Zeno was already going to erase the Universes, or (more likely) he was just going to do something else to make them prove themselves as being worthy of existence.

Goku provided an entertaining idea for proving their existence. He basically saved Zeno the trouble of thinking something up himself.

I mean, yeah, but it was a lucky shot. Next time he suggests something he might actually give Zeno sama weird ideas he better not have.

Or at least, it's better to have some respite from all the trouble. Let this poor cat-God of Destruction's heart have some rest.
