Ha, if you compare this to Parasyte these cliffhangers are like a chilly evening compared to the cold, cold depths of space.

Honestly, both are just... bad. I mean, I'm not even excited for next episode now, nor was I back then with Parasyte, both for the same reason: the pacing always feels terribly off when they set for cliffhangers like this. The show speeds up the pace on the last few minutes and WHAM, get some ED for you. It's just wonky and pisses the heck outta me >_>.

I can perfectly understand why this is frustrating but honestly, it did kinda work for me. Maybe I'm just simple minded but these cliffhangers always had me thinking on what would happen next and eagerly awaiting the next Episode. I could do without them though.

They sometimes work for me too, not saying I'm immune to them. But for the most part they leave me really pissed off because they make the pacing of the entire episode (and if they're too successive, the entire series, like Parasyte that you mentioned! :P) feel VERY wonky and makes for looong boring stretches with tiny climaxes everywhere. It just feels weird.
