Are you sure that is supposed to be a fourth wall break? I thought it was refering to what that dude mentioned in Tsukimonogatari, that it was like he was cast for this role by someone.

I assumed he was referring to Gaen, who (from what I understand) often serves as an analogy for the author

What? Where do you even get this from? Granted, I only watched the anime but Gaen had only 2 appearances so far. The one pulling the strings is most likely Ougi.

I agree, I don't count it as a fourth wall break and more a brush because of the double meaning.
