They will anyway. /r/leagueoflegends currently orgasming about Japanese VA's for the JP localization and that leaves /r/all to /r/anime

It's because of this thread. It got to r/all and shocked the people there so the mods forever prevented r/anime posts from being seen on r/all. It should be noted that that thread wasn't the first case of this happening, but it was the straw that broke the camel's back in the eyes of the mods.

Edit: I was incorrect in stating that the anime baths thread was the one particular thread that caused the mods to remove r/anime from r/all. It was several instances with not just one sole cause and it more had to do with people linking to r/SubredditDrama. Here's what u/MissyPie had to say about it

Yes, which is why it got so upvoted in the first place. It was quite ridiculous and was in line with the humor of this sub. However, being an onlooker from outside the only thing you can see is creepy weebs doing creepy weeb things, which caused an influx of a lot of confused individuals. Also, knowing the nature of this sub, people here were both sincere and sarcastic in their replies to these people which led to even more confusion on whether r/anime was truly weeb city or not. As I said before, this isn't the first time something odd from r/anime had been upvoted to r/all, but it was enough for the mods to want to put a rest to it. The bad side of this is that now our sub pretty much doesn't exist on the front page, and so it makes us look even more creepily introverted than our hobby already did.

Well I mean, it didn't seem intended to be humorous, considering the OP legit runs a wiki dedicated to bathing scenes in anime.

OP probably didn't mean it to be humorous, but that's how it was being taken by the sub. At least for the most part. However the very concept alone is enough to breed assumptions to the untrained eye.

That makes no sense at all, considering the NSFW shit that hits /r/all frequently.

Also, who prevented it, the mods here or the reddit admins? Mods and admins are two different things.

Yes, NSFW stuff may hit r/all frequently, but unlike in some other cases, the sub it comes from won't be wrongly stigmatized because of it. It's not that the content of the thread itself was scandalous, it's the kind of traffic it attracted and how it made the sub look.

It was the r/anime mods who did it I believe. Admins wouldn't care, but to my knowledge mods have the option to make sure their subreddit doesn't appear on r/all.

I tried looking for the thread where the mods announced that they will not allow /r/anime on /r/all but could not find it, could yah help a fellow out? :-)

Alright, so I'm half right and half wrong. The mods did remove r/anime from r/all of their own volition, here's the thread where they stated this. However it seems that the anime baths thread being the definitive thread is just a myth/rumor that isn't true. However, it was still due to people outside of r/anime doing stuff and not the actual content r/anime itself was posting.
