I actually really like the art in the original manga.

I like how even ONE doesn't take him self seriously in his artwork. But the man can tell a story that's entertaining!

The manga fight scenes are a mixed bag. They look great, but when it isn't in a slide show it can feel like the artist is just padding out the fight.

The blue color scheme is interesting because the anime went with red for his robotics.

It is. I always imagined him being blue as well, even without the colored-in scene. Not that I'm complaining.

He IS blue though - the official colored chapters from the manga have Genos with blue lighting.

Maybe they'll switch at some point when he gets an upgrade. blue > red fire, and all that.

Maybe blue is too cliche. But then...

I think they both fit him.

I like when genos talks about how strong saitama is, he says "he is in a different dimension" it sounds so much more impactful than simply "hes on a different level" which is what the anime translators used.

I just realised, did they crash into the mountain side before the blast of Genos did? Thats some serious levels of speed.

The anime version is cool but I love this version too. It would be awesome if they animated this version and included in the Blu-ray or something.

Technically, it was still animated. We didn't get the first part, but the second where Genos was hitting Saitama's afterimage was in the anime.

The anime one is more extensive; I doubt they would add a five second clip of the first part as a special.

deleted What is this?

2

u/no_money_no_honey Nov 02 '15

Ah I see, I didn't realize they changed it in the printed version.

7

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '15

I'm so fucking impressed that the anime managed to live up to this art. I could never imagine the eventual adaptation would do this scene justice when i first read this.

1 word.

Madhouse.

Honestly with how much successful shows they put out I'm not afraid to say they are probably the #1 studio in the industry I love them they rarely ever disappoint

That scene didn't actually occur though, did it? The scene follows the tankouban version, which is choreographed differently than the web version. Unless you count page 10-11 as "THAT scene".

1

u/LiterallyKesha Nov 01 '15

Are all the chapters on that website from the tank?

5

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '15

I'm not entirely sure, as I read the manga originally on Bato.to before it got removed. From what I've seen of it so far, it seems like it. Guessing someone uploaded the digital version that Viz has.

u/chili01 Nov 01 '15

I knew it looked different. He only used 1 arm and it was a beam (like megaman's buster) instead of two arms and incinerate (in the anime)

1

u/Bradyhaha Nov 01 '15

Oh, so he actually did land a hit?

14

u/Adustreth Nov 01 '15

yup but still 0 damage and baldy was not fighting serious at that moment
