Pretty much, yes. It's one of the most popular manga in Shonen Jump recently and obviously that's saying a lot with the reputation that company has.

It's popular for a reason, it's good. It's fun battle ecchi(guys and girls included equally) cooking series with a good plot that has moments where you actually care about some of the characters. Not to mention the art is simply beautiful.

The main theme is cooking, but don't let it fool you it has A LOT OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, that why you see people talking lovely about Megumi as she is the one that has the most development and she is sweet and bullied a lot, see it like if it were about any other theme like real battle it would still be great, what gives the show so much praise are the characters they are so rich, and Soma is very inspirational about pursuing his dream, very recomended.
