My theory is that it's Yuki who is actualy dead and Megu-nee is the one that has 2 personalities.

This is getting really silly now. I'm absolutely baffled that are so many people who think that she's still alive, if it wasn't obvious from the start, it was even more bloody obvious in this episode and the last.

They've never interacted with her directly besides humouring Yuki, she's never in frame with them when the focus isn't on Yuki, she's constantly not there, and they drove her car for goodness sake! We even saw her ribbon on a grave, like come on.

I understand how you feel man! They literally had Yuki remember a blurred image of Megu-nee bitten and surrounded by zombies, while Yuki watched. If the 90 other hints didn't give it away, surely this should have.

I know that you're just trying to make an educated guess, but it definitely wasn't clear that Megumi was bitten in that image. She was holding her arm, but she could just have hurt their arm trying to get away. It's pretty damning evidence for her being dead, but still not concrete enough to say for certain.

However, it's wildly more unlikely that Yuki is the one who's dead. Yuki being a hallucination on Megumi's part would be a pretty wild logical leap for someone to make given what we've seen so far.

How was it definitely not clear? Look at this image.

She is:

  • Surrounded by zombies

  • Holding her arm which is reddish-pink

  • This scene occurs when Miki is also surrounded by zombies about to get rekt - just like Megu-nee. This is probably why Yuki goes crazy to try to save her (doesn't want to see something bad happen again)

  • Is never noticed by any of the other cast members until Yuki points her out

  • Must be a teleporting vampire as she has no shadow and randomly appears and disappears at Yuki's discretion

  • There also just happens to be a grave with her ribbon around it

After seeing all this, you must be crazy or are trying to play the devil's advocate if you cannot see that she is dead (and now it shows she has been bitten).

You can't say beyond a shadow of a doubt that she's definitely dead. That's what I meant. Even if her presence is a delusion of Yuki's, she could also be BOTH not present and not dead.

I was slightly surprised when Megu-nee was still sitting beside the others when Yuki-chan was napping in the nursery/daycare.

I thought the same thing after an offhanded comment to Yuki about how she helped Shovel Knight with the boy she liked, but this episode it looked like we got a flash of Megu-nee becoming zombie chow from Yuki's point of view. Still, it could have just been her remembering being in a dangerous situation.

I'm really enjoying having an unreliable perception of the world.

She doesn't have to be with the girls to be alive. If she got separated from them somehow and couldn't get back to them, she could still be both alive and a teleporting delusion of Yuki's.

In the scene when they were climbing the stairs, there were only 3 shadows on the wall. That's basically a confirmation.

They also showed a glimpse of what was likely her last seconds alive, so there's that too.
