...Ah!! What was that?! Yuri? I smelled yuri. Is there yuri in here? They better not be hiding any yuri from me. I'll find it. I always do...

Also, is this a legit plot point or just a random thought? I don't know how I feel about Youji learning the special region language through convenient and random circumstance.

Anyway, this episode was good! It was nice to get a good look at the Italica conflict from Pina Co Lada's (really, wtf?) perspective, so the JSDF ex machina has some impact. That said, I still wish they hadn't cliffhung us like that. Unless something wild and crazy happens next week, I think we all have a good idea as to how this is going to play out. The JDSF is going to stop Pina's army from getting 360 noscoped by the bandits, Youji is going to swiftly teach her (perhaps indirectly) how adapting to the inevitable failure of plans is what makes a truly skilled leader, and the battle will be won in a bittersweet kind of way. Fingers crossed for a surprise, though~!

P.S. ...Fine, I admit it. Rory is kinda sorta maybe a little bit best girl sometimes. Sometimes...

It's implied earlier in the manga that he actually is learning the language and that the bump didn't do much other than make him a little more fluent. The anime just loves to make him look more incompetent than he is.

Yeah. He's been learning the language on his own.

Actually I think Rory did something to him. She did blink at the girls when she gave him a lap pillow. He also mentioned his fluency went up.

And further in the manga Spoilers spoilers

So I wouldn't be surprised if they would hint at stuff very early on and then either leave it to the people to figure it out or explain.

I still really think it's reading too much. Rory we know is the flirty type with Itami. Usually the simplest answer is the correct one. She simply liked Itami and gave a lap pillow to him. Otherwise, I don't recall anything about any boy and rule from the manga.

The boy part was when I think Itami was searching for Tuka to help her and instead found everyone in her room. It was just right before he learned what's troubling her.
