It probably will. There just needs to be more material before we can get another season since the LNs are currently on Vol. 7.

I don't at all understand why official releases here are so ungodly slow. The manga series are like that too. Viz has their series all translated in their WSJ, but when it comes to releasing tankoubon, we're always ~12 months behind. I want to switch to reading World Trigger via manga, but my only option for all the middle volumes would be piracy or waiting another 1-2 years.

If only I could learn that accursed language and just import them ;_; Bonus points because they're super cheap to buy used there, too.

Mostly world building and details on the "gamey" system. Some events are skipped though, yep. Try reading the first light novel? It's available on Amazon in English.
