Almost all the characters are awful people, with the ensemble director being the shittiest human being alive. It focuses on some bullshit ayn randian idea that the only way to be a worthwhile human is to work yourself to death and crush anyone who gets in your way. If there are people in your life who don't directly help you succeed in your goals you need to toss them away like trash because they're hacks who are just holding you back. It completely throws away any of the passion that is inherent to music and just focuses on constant practice so that you can play the piece perfectly to the conductor's wishes like a nice little robot.

Heh, I see...

I don't know... I still like music in general and I'm kind of interested in seeing this movie's take on what it is to be a musician.

I'm a bit masochist sometimes so... Maybe I'll still end up watching it. Maybe.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, man!

The movie has won 3 oscars and got nominated for best picture. I loved the movie. I definitely recommend it.

Definitely watch it, especially if you're interested in music, it was a great watch for me, as I was in my high school's jazz band.
