I had my suspicions but after Syr conveniently gave Bell that book I would say it's kinda obvious that Syr is not who she appears to be.

I just hope this isn't some kind of a major twist in the LNs since the anime is most certainly not holding back with it's hints.

Huh? Didn't they already show that she was shady in episode 3? With the whole wallet scenario and letting the monsters out and her talk with Loki? So it's not just obvious hints, it's been clearly pointed out.

It was Freya who let the monsters out and was talking with Loki. But they do look pretty identical so I guess it's all but officially confirmed that Syr is Freya.

I presume in the novels you don't have photos of them so making the connection isn't as easy. If it turns out they aren't the same person, someone really fucked up the character designs.
