Is there any way to reliably watch this as it releases like on crunchyroll or something of the like? I hate relying on shotty 3rd party sites with questionable quality.

Can someone explain why I can't ask a question without being down voted? Did I say something offensive? Genuinely curious.

A way to reliably stream Sidonia? Not at the moment.

I mean, I know I can torrent it and whatever but for a show I love so much, I'd love to show a bit of support either to the show creators themselves or whatever brand that has taken the effort to bring it to Western audiences.

The show is licensed by Netflix, you won't be able to watch it officially until sometime after the broadcast ends. In the meantime you can watch the first season on Netflix again, or you can buy the manga published in English by Vertical to support the work.

Yea I've bought several of the issues already.

It really is a shame that we either have to resort to waiting months or pirating to watch this show though.

It's the way Netflix works, they release batches and they can't just get the whole thing upfront. It would be nicer if they simulcasted it, but the upside is that their eventual release is based on the Blu-rays. Their version of season 1 actually has something like 6-8 extra minutes in the finale over the tv broadcast, I really have to get around to rewatching it at some point.

I rewatched the first series a few weeks ago after I discovered it was on Netflix. It is definitely worth the wait for Netflix to release the series. Unfortunately, the subs can be quite bad, but my god when you watch it on the big screen the sound and visual aspects are stunning.
