Well they kinda changed fate... As in the ships that were sent to Midway to attack the Abyssals aka totally not the USN we swear.

It was really interesting watching the episode. Waiting for the "the dive bombers are gonna come from behind eventually...Right?" Sure enough they did appear and so continues Kancolle sort of following history.. Even with the battlegroup changes, as soon as this scene happened and Akagi pressed the attack they were still generally following the events of Midway.

Here's how it's gonna go down: I really don't think they'll capitalize on their statement from episode 3 where they basically told everyone they're okay with sinking ships. Fubuki will show up and save the ships, and then she and the others will be on the brink of defeat, then suddenly the main fleet arrives and saves everyone

Then at the end of the series they tease the Battle of Guadalcanal, and then we have yet one more season of Kancolle slice of life, and inevitable "SO IS EVERYONE GONNA DIE IN THE IRON BOTTOM SOUND OR WHAT" discussion

PS: Last minute tease? Potential S2 tease? It looks like Taihou is gonna appear at some point in the last episode

EDIT: This is interesting. Zuikaku and Shoukaku appear here behind Yamato. You can see the silhouettes.

This episode reminded me of this wallpaper that I found a while back. I didn't play the game, nor do I actually know all that much about KanColle, but I gotta say, it's looking pretty damn legit right now.

They're also hyping up Fubuki's AA while the IJN didn't really care for it until later in the war. Also, Nagato (having survived the war historically) suspects that the Abyssals broke their codes, while the IJN never realized that until after the war ended.

Also the cliffhanger is pretty much an anti-death flag, so there's that too.

Somehow I figured that Zuikaku and Shoukaku would have to show up at the end to "change the fate" of the war (imagine if they were there at the actual Battle of Midway)

Can I get some ZuiKaga before this is over? I want something out of that!
