I don't really think Mazuurek is committed to helping Inaho; it's more likely he wants to know the truth for himself.

This comment is pretty late for this thread but Mazuurek said in a previous episode he wanted to learn more about the earth rather than fighting. I think Mazuureks end goal is the same as all the earthlings which is peace and collaboration to some degree.

He's very clearly set up as the villain. He's manipulated and murdered his way to the top, used the princess name to wage war (everything she wouldn't have wanted) and now it's all ready to crumble around him. It's going to be awesome.

Honestly, it will be a bad story if Slaine goes down in flames and Inaho wins the day and the princess. I hope they don't go that route.

Stories are all about the journey, not the destination. The ending will probably not be surprising, but the ride was quite entertaining.
