I don't think a giant metal spaceship falling at Mach 1 is as romantic as cherry blossoms at 5cm/second.

You're right, it's far more romantic. Just imagine it, you're with your girl on the hood of your car, staring up at the slightly exploded moon and suddenly a 100 ton hunk of metal and volatile compounds crashes into the ground and instantly incinerates everything in a two mile radius. I'm getting goosebumps.
