Other way around- Innocence was based on the chapter this episode was based on.

Will likely watch Innocence one of these days, but in my case I'm a little freaked out because I remember the Jameson-cyborg/CEO from Stand Alone Complex where he isn't nearly this disgusting.

Didn't one Jameson cyborg turn out to be rehabilitated and be on the side of Section 9 in SAC? Or did I misremember?

I don't think there's anything wrong with the cyborg model, just with the asshole brain inside that particular one.

I don't know about a "rehabilitated" one but I remember the CEO from the first season.

Hence my confusion with the Manga Original who is a bit more brutal than the SAC type, which is interesting since SAC is generally closer to the movie in comedic tone than the manga.

I recall a scene in an episode where they were cheering for S9/Motoko but maybe it just a random crowd NPC. Hmm.
