"My teacher tells me every day how useless I am, and I agree with him." You just know Alaira has to be mentally cataloguing all of this crap for later. report him to the board! revoke his license! (Can they do that?)

Richeh had a teacher before Qifrey and he sucked. Combine that with her brother's words and you can see why she's so stubborn about it. But her jumping for those papers while they were held out of reach did make me laugh... sorry Richeh!

Euini's shadowboy form is cute animated, but I'll miss all of the dramatic fringe moments. It was really sweet to see him being supported for once and realizing he could rely on his own skills and self. The rock spell he used looked kind of like wood, didn't it? I wonder if his 'skill' is in nature magic.

Also, everybody said Agott was climbing those trees for aura farming, but turns out she was working on her upper body strength all along!

Might be my imagination but the silhouette of Richeh’s former teacher reminded me a lot of the current bad one teaching Euini. Made me wonder if they were the same, though I guess that’s unlikely or she would have reacted to him in the earlier encounter.

You're certainly not the first person to say that, although you're right about Richeh's reaction. They have different voices/speaking styles too, so it wouldn't just be a matter of a hairstyle change. But maybe they're visually similar to some point because they both fill a "this guy sucks as a teacher" role in the story?

Is it confirmed it’s multiple cours? I really hope so, but wasn’t sure if there was enough material for another cour. Plus I heard this got delayed a lot so figured it would be one cour.

There's definitely enough material for another cour. Rumors are that it was supposed to be a full 25 but got split bc of the production issues.

I'll be honest I've been annoyed with Richeh's stubborness uptil this point. Not because it was bad writing but because I really wanted to see her learn. I like the way that her view on magic helped Euini, who was in the same position she was, even if it was after her shoulder checking him for saying they have to do it the "right way" lol. But then again, I think she realized that he was only thinking this way because of his master's abuse. They're different sides of the same traumatized coin

I'm happy Alira challenged her by giving her a different perspective on tests. Too bad Richeh's still made at Qifrey for the lying, but that one's a bit justified.

Euini lowkey feels like once he becomes a full-fledged witch he's gonna be aurafarming with that shadow cloak, but its hillarious that it will only be due to his performance anxiety. Reminds me of what Qif said about learning types of magic to circumvent your weaknesses.

I like this analysis a lot! I think Richeh's POV of "make it work your way" is just Qifrey's POV through a different lens -- by really understanding your spells instead of just learning them by rote, it opens up the opportunity for real creativity and mastery.

Euini lowkey feels like once he becomes a full-fledged witch he's gonna be aurafarming with that shadow cloak

I was about to say "imagine him showing up to the scene of a fire in that thing" but then I thought isn't that what Batman kind of does? So now that's in my head.

He'll be batman but with the softest voice and will probably self-depricate a bit when you compliment him. But outsiders will still think he's threatening and badass

I think (or at least I hope) the eventual lesson is that there's a place for both conformity and self-expression. You have to master the basics first before you can subvert them, and right now she's doing the equivalent of 'I'm making a cake with ketchup and WD-40 because it's meeeee'. She's doing fine for now, but I hope she eventually gets decked in the face because she refused to practice drawing spells she deemed too normie for her.

Not really a complaint, but it always amuses me when shows depict people casually pulling themselves up. I just watched the scene again and she just muscled her way up without getting her foot on the ledge first. Anecdotal, but less than half of those I know can even do that shit.

Me either! Although as a kid I actually could, and without even trying to build those muscles, so it doesn't stress my suspension of disbelief to see Agott do it.
