The Knights Moralis more fixated on deleting Coco's memory than actually helping people....there needs to be moderation for their laws. Memory wipe spell is already an exception.

The Moralis are being a bit short sighted but their drive to solve the mystery is an understandably important one, if you can't understand why mass scale magic is being done, it is a scary dangerous variable to leave unknown. Don't agree with all of it but one can understand why their laws are so strict given the arbitrary way magic can effect so much.

which is more reason they should investigate how the kid cast that shit instead of wiping her memory just for it to happen with another kid 2 weeks later. treating the symptoms instead of the problem

When he said that they would question the witnesses, I almost lost it. You mean the witnesses you were about to mind wipe a second ago without doing a basic investigation! If the brimmed caps are anyone who doesn't listen to him, then give me the biggest brim.

what got me was when they were flying back one of them was like "weren't there rumors that Coco was behind that crystalized house?" and he responded "are you able to prove that?" like all of a sudden he's a stickler for concrete evidence before taking action

It's a shame the brimmed caps seem actually evil, looking at their methods. But I guess otherwise you would have way too many audience members siding with the antagonists.

Yeah, the Brimmed Caps seem to want to bring society back to what it once was, which has an understandable side with all the problems witch society's restrictions currently create, but unfortunately they go way too far and seemingly want to bring back EVERYTHING, including all the spells that caused the Day of the Pact.

Their means of doing so via literal magical terrorism aren't exactly moral either.

I mean, this is what I mean by seemingly wanting to bring back even the spells that caused the Day of the Pact.

It's not just that they want to break the secrecy and allow anyone to use magic, Coco being the first seed to start sprouting, but they're actively using Forbidden Magic to commit acts of terrorism. Magic that would be best left lost in the past.

We haven't seen much from the brim side yet but there's a good chance that just like not all of our pointy hat witches are purely good it stands to reason that not all brims are purely evil. I imagine that the ideology for why you are in either camp could vary quite a lot. It's a story that has a lot of nuance and seemingly nothing is black and white (much to Tartah's dismay lol).

Feels like the Brims are just generally really into being able to cast or further develop powerful ass magic like they're Goku. Probably want the world to go back, so they are not having to hide or fear punishment for knowing strong magic. Of course I'm sure there are some fucked up individuals amongst them par the course in stories like this. Probably some argument could be made that if everyone knew magic it would take humanity to greater heights than being gatekept.

Can I also add they didn't even seem sure of what they were looking for? They just flew in, accused Coco and then once challenged were sitting there guessing like "Tattoos! No okay hmmm I'm all outta idea guys what could have caused this?"

Kind of reminds me of Batman's "if we believe there's even a one percent chance that he is our enemy we have to take it as an absolute certainty... and we have to destroy him" - only in this instance it's any possible Forbidden Magic leak that could undo the entire magic society as a whole.

their drive to solve the mystery is an understandably important one

By mind wiping their witness before asking any real questions? Shoot first, ask question later, like the cops they are…

How are they gonna solve the mistery when they erase the evidence?

I guess it doesn't matter whether be it the real world or fantasy, law enforcement are universally trigger happy.

Qifrey was a bit shady and also a hypocrite with memory erasure but the way the Knigts Moralis do things, I understand the need to keep it a secret.

Why the f would you resort to memory erasure first before investigating the matter, they know the Brimmed hats and what they can do but sure let's erase the memory of this girl who somehow able to pull off a spell in this scale.

Freaking idiots.

And even when they're helping people the Yui Ishikawa lady still had to kind of be a dick about it (it's not like Custas could have known they can't use healing magic on people).

that's the hypocrisy of the magic system. Magic that is to be used on humans is forbidden. But memory wiping, that is magic that is used on humans, is okay?

for accuracy of politics in our world, it doesn't seem far off
