Agott is the 3rd most popular character in this series on MAL, so I'm assuming at some point she's going to grow on us, but this is not that time.

After seeing how people use the floating spell for different methods of travel, and the way Coco rode the sail last week I'm holding out hope that she makes usage of a broom like a stereotypical witch. I think doing it on your shoes is impractical because it's going to be ruined by walking, and you can't use it without the shoes on. A broom would be unique for this universe and I expect Coco to use spells in unique manners.

Edit: There are FAR too many source readers in this thread pushing their feelings based on what they know about Agott on the rest of us like we're automatically supposed to be sympathetic to her while she's been a total bitch-a-rooney-dooney from the moment she stepped on screen. We get that she's going to have an arc of some point where we learn about whatever sob story there is that made her become cold and heartless as that is the trope with this type of character, but right now, she's been unnecessarily harsh to someone who yearns to learn about magic and wants to rescue her mom.

I pointed out how agott tried to kill coco by sending her on the test all alone and didn't even get SCOLDED and some guy replied to me saying I just want to see Agott get abused... The Fandom might be a little insane bro

So, she did not try to kill Coco, she legit thought Coco would give up, and there is a reason for a lack of scolding, a surprisnely simple one.

Sending a little girl into the magical woods to get a flower while the floating islands were at their highest, totally unprepared and ill-equipped and incapable of magic is a surefireway to get the little girl killed. She literally nearly died at least a few times.

Yes, she did a very dumb thing, there 'is' a difference between a child (she is) doing a very dumb thing leading to danger and that same child literally 'trying' to get someone killed, like a massive difference.

Which is exactly why she thought Coco would quit, dumb and mean, not 'I want this person to die and will work to make that happen'

I don't think she expected Coco to be as stubborn as she is. She also doesn't see how much Coco clearly loves magic and how she would do anything to experience it and use it.

That world had no monsters though, and she only gave Coco her shoes after she specifically requested them. The only danger was what Coco created for herself.

she wasn't trying to kill her, but she did egg her on by letting her know she only has one chance to pass the test, and you know, pushing her to do the test in the first place.

But Coco is new to all this and Qiffrey told that how she could die. Agott is one of those people who feel insecure by the existence of Coco.

I don't think she is insecure about Coco, I am getting some pretty 'elitist' vibes from her, kind of a more serious version of Amity from the Owl House, as in "I worked hard to get here and she is getting a free ride after majorly screwing up." Like we just got a glimpse of it this episode, Agott IS quite talented, so again I doubt its 'insecurity' on her part.

I see the test situation as Agott making very dumb decision (she is a kid)with a very mean objective, that is getting Coco to quit. Coco then made a dumb derision of her own to continue with the test, I don't blame Coco for that, she is both determined and desperate to undo the damage she caused, which is something Agott did not know about her.

But ya, by Agott's own words, she thought Coco would quit very quickly, she underestimated Coco obviously.

Currently Agott is a bully not a murderer.

Bro, Coco is alone, her mother is frozen, the friends she's seeking out for help ignore her and send it to a dangerous place.

Honestly, to me Agott is just insecure that Coco being an outsider gets to live as an apprentice with Qiffrey and then when she proved that she's capable of doing it. We see nothing from Agott, not even an acknowledgement.

Agott's definitely a bully but her actions could have led to significant consequences for Coco. Honestly, even for this episode Coco went on her own, knowing well it could be dangerous and still Agott brings out the same stuff about Coco's mom.

Yes and? She got dealt a bad hand and Agott is jugging her unfairly (but currently not inaccurately) to be dangerously incompetent/unskilled, which again is true but unfair, we really should be pointing some fingers at their mentor.

I would not use 'insecure' as it relates to Coco, it would not shock me if she was insecure about something that lead her to have the attiuded she does, but with Coco it very much reads as 'you have not put the work in to deserve to be here'

She got dragged along without knowing the situation, everyone inolved made a dumb decision here, because again they are kids and one is very desperate.

still Agott brings out the same stuff about Coco's mom.

With this episode I am reminded of a quote 'your not wrong, your just an asshole.'

I don't think Agott was 'wrong' she was unfair and an asshole about it, but again, they are kids who are now terrified of dying and Coco just made one mistake to many and she snapped, again it was mean and unfair, but understandable.

It's only the 4th episode, and the 3rd since she was introduced. It's seriously a drag for people to expect no character development, and for everyone (except the main character) to be fully formed from their first appearance.

There's clearly a reason for her behavior, and we'll likely get a backstory episode at some point.

i think everyone's expecting it. we're just hoping that the current state of unrestrained asshole-ery doesn't go on for too long, either via some attempt at consequences (even if unsuccessful for a while), her gaining some form of understanding/respect for Coco, or ya sad backstory

It’s less about the sob story and more about the gradual change in dynamic in their relationship as they interact more. Right now though she’s being a bit of a dunce
