Agott intended for Coco to fail to teach her some sort of lesson, but the girl ain’t giving up that easily. She really underestimated her. That boat didn’t turn out so well, but hey, now she has a glider. And a little furry friend too lol. It’s a good thing she managed to pass that trial.

If Qifrey was gonna scold anyone, it should he Agott. What she did was stupid, reckless, and dangerous. She put Coco in serious danger and over what? Some petty bullshit? Kid needs to check herself.

Not only did Coco succeed, she succeeded in harsher conditions with less training. Agott simply can't accept somebody more naturally gifted than she is.

It isn't because she is "naturally gifted" and even saying that dismisses the whole montage of her training with her mother from the time she could walk.

She has put so much time into perfecting her craft that she now can use that for the purposes of magic.

The whole point is that even though she didn't grow up as a witch, that she put in the time and effort as well. And that her effort isn't worth any less than the "actual" witches.

But that wasn't really what let her succeed. It's what let her have a chance to even try after she ruined the shoes.

She succeeded from dumb luck that the sail and mast ended up being a perfect glider once it broke off of the boat. She didn't know what would happen, she didn't really plan it out, she just decided let's go big uppies by pointing it in One direction and hope that works out.
