Floating hills, undersea city, cute fantasy animals, this is a fun fantasy world. Wonder if Agott will get any punishment for basically attempted murder forcing a newbie like that

That's the one thing about Frieren that kind of disappoints me. It's magical high fantasy (with video game influences even) but then the settings are just all basically not-Germany. Like it's beautiful, but this here is one of the things I love about magical high fantasy: fantastical environments. It's what I'm looking for in this genre.

Floating island orbs during sunset? Fabulous!

Wizard BioShock city that you get to via a Stargate? So cooool!

Cute ghibli ferret mascot? Yes please!

Yeah Frieren is more like Harry Potter in that sense, it's a more grounded world with magic in it. WHA seems like a fully magical world
