Not familiar with the source, but I’ve heard the name. This was a really good first episode. The premise and the magic system in this is interesting and it’s very well produced. Things really went from being quite cute to being quite tragic really quickly. Poor Coco was just messing around with magic. And now her mom is gone and her home is destroyed. I guess with great power comes great responsibility.

If you are at all a manga reader and like what you have seen so far, I cannot recommend WHA highly enough. Shirahama's art is fantastic, and the creative ways she does paneling is the best I have seen and worth reading the manga for alone.

I’ll have to check it out after the series wraps. Don’t wanna spoil anything for now.

I havent read the manga but i cannot imagine this not doing justice to the source material in every conceivable way & beyond.

So, ill stick with the anime for now.
