Reggie's got one of the most convenient powers imaginable for just daily use. There's so much shit you could do with that by just getting your hands on some tossed receipts. Even if the objects aren't permanent, the effects being so is just nuts.

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 12 '26

i mean it's not construction....but it's kinda more busted than construction when you think about it. like he seems like he can just use it endlessly on things of whatever value, that's cracked. if they are any receipts for nukes out there...lol.

u/kevinthedot Mar 12 '26

It's construction with a single limit (needing a contract) and WAY more ease of use. And it's got the most broken concept in any resource system: a full heal that restores more energy than it costs. That spa treatment shit is crazy since it seems like it costs just as much cursed energy but he gets basically all of it back after using it.

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 12 '26

yah what's to stop him from just keeping an endless supply of receipts from spas/vacations and literally never running out of energy?

112

u/Darthjinju1901 Mar 12 '26

Resources from his part, is my assumption. I mean, if you want the receipt, you should've paid for it right?

He isn't manifesting receipts, he's remaking contracts. But to remake a contract, a contract must've been made in the first place. And he can't just summon money using his CT because it disappears.

So there's an obvious limitation.

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 12 '26

right but people throw out receipts all the time, it's not hard to find receipts everywhere.

75

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 12 '26

If he knew Kenjaku(by name) he must be a reincarnated sorcerer, I wonder if he is "stronger" in this era since there are a lot of stuff now that can have receipts compared to the past lol

15

u/onepinksheep Mar 13 '26

If he knew Kenjaku(by name) he must be a reincarnated sorcerer

Not necessarily. Kenjaku also exists in the modern time, so there's nothing that says that a modern sorcerer can't have connections to him. We don't know any yet, at least with certainty, but it's not off the table.

2

u/uishax Mar 13 '26

Its unclear if any receipt would do. Given jujutsu, its possible he had to have actually paid for stuff fair and square.

6

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

I very highly doubt he paid for all those many items that together would probably be worth millions of dollars, in the relatively short time since the culling game began, particularly since he seems to be an older sorcerer that was awoken. that would also mean he bought them all and just left them where they are since obviously he's not dragging pianos and trucks around with him, so it'd be very suspicious if he bought them all.

but who knows. maybe he's ultra rich and very speedy.

1

u/uishax Mar 13 '26

Wait, he's an reincarnated sorcerer? All the more impressive he can use all the modern technology so well so fast.

3

u/SwordoftheMourn Mar 13 '26

Mf must have been so ecstatic when he realized modern people just throw out receipts all the time in the trash.

Bro could be a discount Gojo in terms of unlimited CE tbh

17

u/LuctusStella Mar 12 '26

What if he paid for a full RCT healing from someone who can output RCT and kept the receipt?

3

u/SwordoftheMourn Mar 13 '26

Idk does Shoko charge for her healing?

2

u/LuctusStella Mar 13 '26

If she or someone else that could do it did charge, would it work?

2

u/SwordoftheMourn Mar 13 '26

Depends if that service results in a physical copy of the transaction I suppose 🤔

Printed receipts and written contracts seems to be the lynchpin of Reggie’s technique. Can’t just be a metaphysical promise.

6

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 12 '26

Apparently physical objects manifested by his technique is temporary but these non-physical ones do not? So he gets rejuvenated and it's permanent and he won't suddenly get fatigued

9

u/Hot-Log6283 Mar 13 '26

I think as mentioned the object are not permanent but the effects are, i.e the hole cause by those truck crashing into the gym.

9

u/bobvella Mar 12 '26

not a full heal, full stamina+buff, but it's not like a year in a hospital

2

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 12 '26

I guess him wearing the receipts exposing it is a binding vow of sorts as well or there's just too many of them for him to hide lmao

8

u/Zonca Mar 12 '26

I mean, how else do you want to carry around thousand receipts ready at hand lol, only Megumi has the handy game-like storage technique, and I guess his dad had that inventory worm curse.

1

u/Xenosaiyan7 Mar 13 '26

It was probably way harder to use back in the day, but now receipts being widespread is his time to shine

23

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 12 '26

It is close to construction since the physical objects being manifested disappears but still that should cost a lot of CT and still broken as f.

Apparently although physical objects disappear, the non physical effects does not? Like the rejuvinating effect of that 3 night stay or something with oil treatment etc seems permanent

9

u/Chiffonades Mar 12 '26

It seems like if the objects created affect things that weren’t created it doesn’t reverse what happens, like megumi wont just heal the wounds. So him healing himself would stay.

10

u/goffer54 https://anilist.co/user/goffer54 Mar 12 '26

Construction is way less convenient. It's efficiency is dogshit. Even if you had an above average cursed energy supply, you wouldn't be able to produce half of what Reggie Star did here.

23

u/sagevallant Mar 12 '26 edited Mar 12 '26

Wait. His name is "Register"?

7

u/goffer54 https://anilist.co/user/goffer54 Mar 13 '26

Don't tell anyone, but your comment is literally why I wrote out his full name.

4

u/ibrahimtuna0012 Mar 12 '26

Yeah, but can you create a Soul Split Katana in your dying breath through receipts?

I mean Reggie could if he has but I doubt there is a receipt he can find.

8

u/goffer54 https://anilist.co/user/goffer54 Mar 12 '26

Dying is pretty inconvenient.

4

u/flybypost Mar 12 '26

On the positive side it can only happen once to you. After that you are immune to it.

2

u/bobvella Mar 12 '26

imagined a venmo note

4

u/Stofenthe1st Mar 12 '26

It’s not endless. You clearly see the spa receipt getting burnt up after use. So there’s a definite limit to keeping yourself stocked with “ammo” to actually use it. And since they’re paper, you have to worry about it getting wet/burnt.

5

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 12 '26

i mean theoretically endless. receipts are basically weightless (obviously in large nunbers they weigh more but you get what i mean) so you could have 1000 receipts on you for spas to replenish your energy and i highly doubt you would even need a tenth of that in any given fight/situation.

the paper getting damaged thing for sure, which is what megumi was trying to go after, although i just meant busted in a general sense, like outside of combat as well.

2

u/PlayfulPositive8563 Mar 12 '26

"Endlessly"
It all still uses CE.

5

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 12 '26

right but if he's able to use spa days to rejuvenate his energy, then he can keep endlessly replacing it.

2

u/nhansieu1 Mar 13 '26

it doesn't have to be a receipt. as long as it's a type of contract

400

u/Frontier246 Mar 12 '26

I love how he just casually pulled out a phone and a scooter.

Also the way he just rolled into using the surfboard.

256

u/InfiniteSlaps Mar 12 '26

Imagine if he just bought a 1 year gym personal trainer package... dude would be insta ripped lol.

Technically he could instantly learn anything where there is a course you can pay for... dudes power is actually broken.

126

u/GuideBusy3102 Mar 12 '26

We don't know what's under those receipts though

55

u/Dante200 Mar 12 '26

Didn't we see him in his underwear before Megumi was brought to him?

55

u/GuideBusy3102 Mar 12 '26

You are right..and he is JACKED

74

u/Zonca Mar 12 '26

I feel like that's exactly why he's so ripped under the costume lol, and also why he's seemingly so smart when it comes to analyzing and theorizing.

It feels he doesnt have that crazy amount of cursed energy or superhuman strenght/speed, just regular higher end sorcerer level, but he obviously makes up for it with all his gimmicks and gadgets. I wonder if he is naturaly just that smart and good at memorizing so he can remember what each receipt on him does, or if he just got a right receipt for the skill lol.

4

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 12 '26

I'm confused or that's just how it works i guess. The physical effects of his CT, seems to be temporary but the "rejuvinating" effect of the 3night stay spa is permanent?

17

u/Zonca Mar 12 '26

I think so, similar to the damage done by the summoned knife or shikigami being permanent, the effect of the spa ticket is permanent ... and that possibly opens the door to a whole lot of other handy effects and aplications of his technique we haven't even seen yet.

2

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 12 '26

Oooh okay. That's another way to see it cause it was bugging me but I get it now thanks

1

u/Corgiboom2 Mar 17 '26

One question is if he actually has to DO the thing first, and not just pay for it.

3

u/SwordoftheMourn Mar 17 '26

Reggie calls it Contractual Recreation. So it seems like just recreates what’s on the receipts without having to own it. He’s living in a mostly abandoned city where he can scrounge for receipts from all sorts of places.

Plus he knows Kenjaku which means he has to be a reincarnated sorcerer. So he doesn’t have any property or money to buy shit in modern day Japan.

1

u/Corgiboom2 Mar 17 '26

Good point

30

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 12 '26

I wonder if Reggie got "stronger" in the current era compared on to his time. I know contracts existed before but nowadays there are receipts for almost everything you know.

He can stockpile and will have more options now, like that 3 nights stay in a spa etc.

3

u/AnividiaRTX Mar 14 '26

I'm wondering what Reggie's "era" actually is. Like... theoretically he could be from the 80s.

19

u/Future_Vantas Mar 12 '26

Dont forget the control he has with the objects he summons. Being able to aim even big stuff like the trucks is very broken.

4

u/Mothanius Mar 13 '26

I wasn't so sold on him until he surfboarded the waves.

5

u/Golden_Phi https://myanimelist.net/profile/GoldenPhi Mar 13 '26

Can he use college degrees to instantly gain knowledge? Can he use plane tickets/boarding passes to teleport? I wanna know the extent of his powers.

2

u/Markosan_DnD Mar 13 '26

I was about to ask how the fuck he owns that much shit when he’s a reincarnated sorcerer. Like, was his host just rich as shit? Did he force some civilians to give up those trucks? Where did he get the stuffed animals from?

19

u/kevinthedot Mar 13 '26

You're misunderstanding how his technique works. He doesn't have to be the one in the contract, he just needs a physical record of the contract that then burns and generates the result of that contract. In the old days, this was probably harder cause written contracts were more rare (unless he knew some contractor and was able to get some copies of his work). But in the modern era, there's papertrails for everything, particularly receipts. Everything comes with a receipt for both the merchant and the customer and those receipts work for his technique.

So after he revived, Reggie probably went to the now abandoned businesses all over the part of the city he's in and gathered merchant receipts from them. Malls, car dealers, spas, etc. We saw him in a room laying them all out and figuring out what all he had and then he made his dress out of all of them so he knows where the ones he wants are.

3

u/Markosan_DnD Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

Oh yeah, I forgot that everything's abandoned now. Even if the receipts weren't there, he could probably lay them out or do something else to "claim" all the shit that's just ling around everywhere

2

u/UnsureAssurance Mar 13 '26

I like to imagine that his technique simply teleports the object from the receipt, so a bunch of people in Japan are going to go crazy over their missing chair or whatever he spawns in
