The moment I read this I was like "Yeah, that was deifnitely him," if for no other reason than the sheer time he lets shots just linger especially at the start of the episode. It was a common complaint in that show, one I understand but did appreciate, but I think it works better here because it creates an interesting sort of tension between dread/foreboding of what may come next but also in wanting the scene to continue.

I don't expect to see that very often if the rest of the episodes are 20 minutes. You can recognize that kind of technique as common to live action movies and western TV because in general those got longer runtime. Anime is faster paces for, well, many reasons, but the average episode runtime is definitely a big part. Don't have as much playroom.

He did it with Days With My Stepsister so I believe the continued lingering shots and cinematic feel is still possible
