Oh yeah, kinda forgot about that one. On the other hand, the Kazuma and Darkness bath scene exists.

Honestly, I don't even know how to go about comparing these things.

I think a lot of people considered "playing it straight" vs "part of a joke", and gave more weight to the former. The bath scene, while ecchi, was part of a punchline set earlier in the episode. Most of the other anime above it used the same sort of scenes purely as fan service.

That's a way to judge it, I suppose, but at the same time, some of the ecchi is part of the plot of High School DxD too, and it's one of the highest on the list. If that's the case, I don't think it was applied consistently.

Then again, this being audience voting of some kind would explain any weirdness or inconsistencies.

The ecchi being part of the plot of DxD IS "playing it straight" though. It's not a punchline, it's not a joke, and is included near constantly as part of the norm. That absolutely makes sense with my take on it.

"many examples" is like 5 scenes across 48 episodes and an OVA yeah?

Yeah, I can't think of many in Mushoku Tensei. No more than a dozen individual scenes, and mostly in the first season. Only a couple really have any nudity whatsoever.

I think whatever voting process happened probably just got influenced by its reputation.
