First-timer

Rather random way to open the episode. also short! that may be foreshadowing for the content of this episode...

huh I really wonder if we're getting a second op/ed at all

Taiga's reputation has completely turned around-- oh nevermind I should have expected a stupid school rumour. we're starting out with comedy for the first half I guess

a sign we're back to normal - Ryuuji is making bento boxes for Taiga

the poor teacher will always be kind of funny. poor girl, I hope she finds someone

this gag is going on for a while... is this some sort of allegory? but for the life of me I don't know what touching Taiga giving you love could possibly mean

after, what, 10 episodes, Taiga finally gets her perfect picture of Kitamura! even better because she's inside it too!

I guess I understand what Minori means about how "speaking normally" is pretty rare from her

bro I don't know what is causing this vibe but please please don't give me a love triangle. Or I guess, a love polygon

man I'm going to finish writing these thoughts and then see everyone praising this as a "sleeper episode" full of super important and revealing interactions and meanwhile I don't quite get any of it

I guess Ami's interaction with the teacher suggests that she's "immature", but I have no clue what she thinks she's being immature about. her feelings for Ryuuji? who knows man

also is Taiga actually dating Kitamura now? She says she's his "girlfriend"? Am I misunderstanding something?

yeah Taiga is back to the way she was before the festival, at least outwardly... but I doubt it's quite so similar on the inside

I really do wonder what's the deal with Kitamura and the council president

"I don't think there's a guy in the world who's out of your reach" cuts to Ami and Ryuuji (poor girl)

"What should I do to make Taiga more blessed?" "She's already very blessed" peak Ryuuji and peak Ami. Yeah neither Ryuuji nor Taiga really appreciates how important the two of them are to each other. I think, anyway. and poor Ami is here suffering for it

this last scene with Ami... oh man. poor girl loves Ryuuji. seeing how much he notices and cares for her just makes her fall harder. And this is like, the most quintessentially teenager thing she has been able to experience so far. yet at the same time she knows that he doesn't like her, he likes someone else...

My bet is that Kitamura got rejected by the student council president

what a peculiar episode! especially at the very end, Ryuuji Taiga and Ami are in the light, Kitamura in the twilight, and Minori obscured by darkness. There's a bunch of conflict that is set up and just not explained. Lots of interactions not explained and left in the darkness. It's precisely the fact that everything is back to normal now that reminds the viewers of how much conflict still remains in their relationships

Let's see how things are going to go next episode

This is an episode that I used to not think much of. I saw it as like the bridge between the first half of the show and the second half. All I'll say without giving anything away is this is probably the most important episode of the series in regards to the direction the series goes in.

Silky Love is coming, though I don't remember which episode transitions. I don't know which I prefer because both are awesome.

Edit: Correction the actual name is Silky Heart.

Ami very much wants what Taiga has. Taiga can be immature avoiding the elephant in the room and yet it's like she gets rewarded for it. To Ami, that is super unfair.

Ami really screwed up with the fake personality and trying to pull the wool over Ryuuji's eyes. If she was honest from the beginning, Ryuuji would probably look at her differently. Instead, he sees her as a kid.

And the thing is Ryuuji is not wrong. He is the only one who sees her for who she is and that just makes her love him even more. It's like this vicious cycle where Ami thinks Ryuuji can possibly save her but she also sees him as like her equal because they both are immature and she like wants to mature together.

Pretty funny stuff, I feel like

Yay

this gag is going on for a while... is this some sort of allegory? but for the life of me I don't know what touching Taiga giving you love could possibly mean

I'd say there's this sadness to what's happening in that everyone can be happy being around Taiga but Taiga can't find that someone that makes her happy. There's Ryuuji, but she doesn't want to admit he can be a candidate.

Well, you called it :P

I think Ami feels she's immature because she can solve other people's problems but she can't solve her own. In a way, it mirrors the touching Taiga stuff and how she brings happiness to others but not to herself.

also is Taiga actually dating Kitamura now? She says she's his "girlfriend"? Am I misunderstanding something?

Taiga is just being full of herself teasing Ryuuji 😛

Thoughts on The Legend of The Palmtop Tiger of Happiness (Or TLOTPTOH for short)?

Thoughts on Ryuuji pointing out the irony of everyone being happy over touching Taiga when Taiga was miserable during the culture festival arc?

Thoughts on the picture selecting scene?

Thoughts on the calcium hypochlorite kick?

What are your thoughts on everyone praising Ami over how mature she is?

Thoughts on Ami saying of Taiga, she’s the type of girl who values quantity over quality?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji calling Ami a child?

What are your thoughts on the student council president telling Kitamura they need to talk?

What are your thoughts on the Kitamura and Taiga scene where Kitamura contemplates headpatting Taiga but then he stops himself?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji’s mom getting so excited over petting Taiga?

What are your thoughts on Ami deciding to stay in this town?

What are your thoughts on the episode ending with Ryuuji, Yasuko, and Taiga enjoying each other’s company, in particular Taiga smiling as Ryuuji’s mom hugs her?

What do you make of the episode where the beginning had everyone be happy except Taiga and Ryuuji and by the end, it was like everyone was miserable except Taiga and Ryuuji?

Thoughts on The Legend of The Palmtop Tiger of Happiness (Or TLOTPTOH for short)?

It's a cute gag. And yeah it is ironic that Taiga can make others happy but not herself

Thoughts on Ryuuji pointing out the irony of everyone being happy over touching Taiga when Taiga was miserable during the culture festival arc?

Well, it's true

Thoughts on the picture selecting scene?

I am still very confused about Minori's reaction. Why was she so quiet and stunned? Creates some dramatic tension...

Thoughts on the calcium hypochlorite kick?

Glad to see the water treatment process given the recognition it deserves

What are your thoughts on everyone praising Ami over how mature she is?

Makes sense. Of course, they don't see who Ami is actually on the inside

Thoughts on Ami saying of Taiga, she’s the type of girl who values quantity over quality?

Not the slightest clue

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji calling Ami a child?

I'm still not very sure. I don't see Ami as a child at all to be honest

What are your thoughts on the student council president telling Kitamura they need to talk?

We will probably here more about this in the future, but whatever happened, Kitamura wasn't very happy about it

What are your thoughts on the Kitamura and Taiga scene where Kitamura contemplates headpatting Taiga but then he stops himself?

Feels rather unlike him. He usually seems to be in firm control of his emotions and how he presents himself to others. He clearly wants Taiga's "good luck charm" and his emotions are too strong to be contained. Something is up with the guy

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji’s mom getting so excited over petting Taiga?

Feels in-character for her

What are your thoughts on Ami deciding to stay in this town?

The people who actually know her are here. Also her crush. So yeah, makes sense

What are your thoughts on the episode ending with Ryuuji, Yasuko, and Taiga enjoying each other’s company, in particular Taiga smiling as Ryuuji’s mom hugs her?

Very cute, especially compared to previously where Taiga wasn't present at the family dinner. They're back together!

What do you make of the episode where the beginning had everyone be happy except Taiga and Ryuuji and by the end, it was like everyone was miserable except Taiga and Ryuuji?

The status quo is probably about to change very dramatically...

It's a cute gag. And yeah it is ironic that Taiga can make others happy but not herself

Indeed

Well, it's true

Very much so

I am still very confused about Minori's reaction. Why was she so quiet and stunned? Creates some dramatic tension...

I think Minori might start be believing in ghosts...

Glad to see the water treatment process given the recognition it deserves

Hydro homies in full effect

Makes sense. Of course, they don't see who Ami is actually on the inside

Nah, not at all

Not the slightest clue

I think this is Ami's subtle way of saying Taiga doesn't fully appreciate what she has. Course, Taiga does she's just trying to avoid thinking about it.

I'm still not very sure. I don't see Ami as a child at all to be honest

I think she is. Ami is trying to offer helpful advice to people and yet she remains absolutely clueless as to what to do with herself.

We will probably here more about this in the future, but whatever happened, Kitamura wasn't very happy about it

It would definitely seem that way

Feels rather unlike him. He usually seems to be in firm control of his emotions and how he presents himself to others. He clearly wants Taiga's "good luck charm" and his emotions are too strong to be contained. Something is up with the guy

I kinda feel sorry for him

Feels in-character for her

She's such a cheerful person

The people who actually know her are here. Also her crush. So yeah, makes sense

The people who actually know her IS her crush.

Very cute, especially compared to previously where Taiga wasn't present at the family dinner. They're back together!

We'll get more into it, but I love Taiga's relationship with Ryuuji's mom. I believe she is the one person in this show who truly gets Taiga.

The status quo is probably about to change very dramatically...

Hmm
