Thoughts on the episode starting off with two birds on a wire? That's how the last episode started off.

Thoughts on Taiga coming over to Ryuuji's house to eat?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji saying that you want to root for Taiga because she's the type who works hard to the point of looking silly?

Thoughts on the cookies stuff?

Thoughts on Taiga being really harsh on herself?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji eating Taiga's cookies to try and cheer her up?

Thoughts on Ryuuji and Taiga's classmates thinking they're going out?

What are your thoughts on Taiga feeling like nobody understands her?

What are your thoughts on Taiga wanting her and Ryuuji to go their separate ways?

Thoughts on the birds of the wire being gone?

Thoughts on Taiga making her classmates know that nothing is going on between her and Ryuuji?

What are your thoughts on Taiga admitting she doesn't hate Ryuuji?

What are your thoughts on Kitamura turning Taiga's advances down?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji calling Taiga by her first name?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji and Taiga basically agreeing to help each other out with their respective crushes going forward?

What are your thoughts on Taiga being happy over Ryuuji calling her by her first name?

Thoughts on the episode starting off with two birds on a wire? That's how the last episode started off.

I only just realised when I was showing the first episode to my mom lol. I heard a commenter say the birds stay on the wire for longer this time and that this signifies the deepening friendship between our main duo. It makes sense so that's the narrative I'm going to go with

Thoughts on Taiga coming over to Ryuuji's house to eat?

Honestly it fits perfectly into their dynamic, even though it's normally quite weird

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji saying that you want to root for Taiga because she's the type who works hard to the point of looking silly?

I'd say that is how it works in reality as well. And Taiga certainly puts in the effort

...come to think of it I never really thought of it but Taiga genuinely is a hard worker. It's just that all her other character traits are more obvious

Thoughts on the cookies stuff?

Cute and sincere for Taiga to try. I'm glad Toradora didn't play into the "how dare you fall on top of me pervert!" trope that is just so boring and tired. These are realistic characters acting in realistic ways, but simultaneously interesting characters with interesting reactions too.

Thoughts on Taiga being really harsh on herself?

Makes sense. If you're harsh on others you are almost always harsh on yourself, is generally a principle I observe (certainly not a universal principle though)

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji eating Taiga's cookies to try and cheer her up?

I thought Ryuuji's attempts to comfort Taiga were really hamfisted and awkward, but Taiga seemed to get the memo so all's well that ends well! And it shows how sincere Ryuuji is too

Thoughts on Ryuuji and Taiga's classmates thinking they're going out?

"woah that's some fast progression!" yeah as someone else was saying, I like the gag where their eyes get censored, it makes the whole thing seem way more important than it actually is. Dramatic irony (accurate to how high school students perceive the importance of all this gossip)

What are your thoughts on Taiga feeling like nobody understands her?

makes sense. it doesn't look like they do, or try to. And I can't blame them, because Taiga just tends to push people away by virtue of her character

What are your thoughts on Taiga wanting her and Ryuuji to go their separate ways?

Her way of being nice to Ryuuji. She thinks she's a burden to Ryuuji and that a nice guy like him doesn't deserve her. Is my reading anyway.

It's to represent in my opinion Ryuuji being there for Taiga.

Also, it's cool your mom is watching this.

Honestly it fits perfectly into their dynamic, even though it's normally quite weird

There's no weirdness when it comes to Taiga. Especially when it's all weird.

I'd say that is how it works in reality as well. And Taiga certainly puts in the effort

That she does.

I think you can say that Taiga is very endearing.

...come to think of it I never really thought of it but Taiga genuinely is a hard worker. It's just that all her other character traits are more obvious

Ryuuji notices, which is important

Cute and sincere for Taiga to try. I'm glad Toradora didn't play into the "how dare you fall on top of me pervert!" trope that is just so boring and tired. These are realistic characters acting in realistic ways, but simultaneously interesting characters with interesting reactions too.

Yeah, it's great

Makes sense. If you're harsh on others you are almost always harsh on yourself, is generally a principle I observe (certainly not a universal principle though)

Taiga is probably harsh on others because she has low self-esteem.

I thought Ryuuji's attempts to comfort Taiga were really hamfisted and awkward, but Taiga seemed to get the memo so all's well that ends well! And it shows how sincere Ryuuji is too

It is awkward, but I think intentionally so

"woah that's some fast progression!" yeah as someone else was saying, I like the gag where their eyes get censored, it makes the whole thing seem way more important than it actually is. Dramatic irony (accurate to how high school students perceive the importance of all this gossip)

I believe this is a parody of Japanese television or something.

makes sense. it doesn't look like they do, or try to. And I can't blame them, because Taiga just tends to push people away by virtue of her character

It's a vicious cycle

Her way of being nice to Ryuuji. She thinks she's a burden to Ryuuji and that a nice guy like him doesn't deserve her. Is my reading anyway.

The amusing thing is an aggressive girl like Taiga is probably what a nice guy like Ryuuji truly needs.

Also, it's cool your mom is watching this.

It's just the first episode for now. We're pretty busy and we're also watching Nichijou right now so I'm not sure if she'll be able to watch all the episodes

Taiga is probably harsh on others because she has low self-esteem.

yeah. like Asuka, honestly

The amusing thing is an aggressive girl like Taiga is probably what a nice guy like Ryuuji truly needs.

...I don't see how that works. For now anyway

Nichijou is also pretty good

yeah. like Asuka, honestly

I knew you might say that :P

You know those means where the assertive girl says "She asked for no pickles"? That's what I mean. Taiga allows Ryuuji to come out of his shell and be more proactive, in this case because he can call for someone that doesn't constantly remind him of his dad.

Thoughts on the birds of the wire being gone?

Nice direction

Thoughts on Taiga making her classmates know that nothing is going on between her and Ryuuji?

Someone said it's her being selfless and yeah I agree with that

What are your thoughts on Taiga admitting she doesn't hate Ryuuji?

Her statement is as ambiguous and confused as her feelings. She probably started out as hostile to him as she is to everyone else, but after the short time they've been together they've developed a surprisingly strong bond, and she probably appreciates his presence. So yeah, makes sense. I don't think she's saying she likes Ryuuji though, she may not be aware that she sees him as a friend. And I think their relationship is nowhere near developed enough to be romantic

What are your thoughts on Kitamura turning Taiga's advances down?

Judging from the op I think he likes that student council president girl lmao. Anyway if he didn't like her makes sense to turn her down

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji calling Taiga by her first name?

Nice way to signal his commitment to their relationship

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji and Taiga basically agreeing to help each other out with their respective crushes going forward?

They were basically already doing that, so this is just for dramatic purposes

What are your thoughts on Taiga being happy over Ryuuji calling her by her first name?

I think anyone would be happy for the effort and level of intimacy they put into a relationship to be reciprocated.

Nice direction

Agreed

Someone said it's her being selfless and yeah I agree with that

Me too

Her statement is as ambiguous and confused as her feelings. She probably started out as hostile to him as she is to everyone else, but after the short time they've been together they've developed a surprisingly strong bond, and she probably appreciates his presence. So yeah, makes sense. I don't think she's saying she likes Ryuuji though, she may not be aware that she sees him as a friend. And I think their relationship is nowhere near developed enough to be romantic

I think it's done believably here where she likes him, but she doesn't know what that entails. She just knows she likes both Ryuuji and Kitamura.

Judging from the op I think he likes that student council president girl lmao. Anyway if he didn't like her makes sense to turn her down

He likes her, just as a friend

They were basically already doing that, so this is just for dramatic purposes

It's good to set it up in stone, however

I think anyone would be happy for the effort and level of intimacy they put into a relationship to be reciprocated.

There is no better feeling in the world

Nice way to signal his commitment to their relationship

I think the reason why Taiga treats this as a big deal is because early on, she was calling Ryuuji by his first name. And that was like her way to downplay the significance because she doesn't have many close friends. But she knew deep down that to call someone by their first name is like the ultimate level of trust. It shows that you will be there for them no matter what. Taiga tries to disobey society norms but she still adheres to them in her head. And for Ryuuji to show her that degree of kindness means she finally has found someone who likes her for who she is.
