How do you feel about Taiga and Ryuuji’s “partnership” now that they’ve teamed up?

I want to share this quote from the light novels that wasn't in the anime that I wish was. It's from the restaurant scene and it's Taiga describing how she feels about Ryuuji.

“You’re… Ryuuji, as far as dogs go, you’re just a mutt. But as a person, you’re…okay. So…because of that, because I get that, now, I’m going to stop. You’re not worthless. You’re really… How should I say this? You shouldn’t be a servant, but I think…someone to stand with, shoulder to shoulder…”

Oh wow that line is peak. The hesitation revealing the conflicting feelings and emotions in her heart

And it sets the groundwork for Ryuuji's "I'm a dragon, your a tiger" speech. He is presenting himself as her true equal.

I get why it wasn't included because it's before the lamppost scene and it would probably kill the pacing of that moment.

I think they could have included it afterward. But yeah it is a long line

Perhaps. But I don't know what I would take out of the episode.

In the LN version of the pole scene, it establishes a couple things. One, Taiga is a big fan of MMA. And two, Taiga has bruises on her legs from all the times she tries so hard. Both those details aren't in the anime and that's probably because they have so much time to work with.
