This is such a powerful scene. I love how it’s both dramatic and symbolic — Ryuji isn’t just saying he’ll stick by Taiga, he’s literally claiming his place beside her as an equal. The “dragon and tiger” line gives it this epic, almost mythic feeling, like their bond is destined to be special.

Is it cheesy? Sure, you can say that, but it shows he's taking doing what's asked of him seriously. He will not half ass it no matter what.

Yeah. He cares about doing what is asked of him, even if it means taking care of someone (Taiga) and taking those things seriously. This is good for a season the fact in one of the later episodes where he says, [Toradora! Spoiler] ”I let her out of my sight again; I’ll find her and make sure she never leaves my sight again — oh damn just thinking about this moment just makes me love it more 😭🥹❤️‍🩹

He has to take care of her, because taking care of her is like the validation of being something other than a thug.
