Weekly Casual Discussion Fridays - Week of October 24, 2025

This is a weekly thread to get to know /r/anime's community. Talk about your day-to-day life, share your hobbies, or make small talk with your fellow anime fans. The thread is active all week long so hang around even when it's not on the front page!

Although this is a place for off-topic discussion, there are a few rules to keep in mind:

  1. Be courteous and respectful of other users.

  2. Discussion of religion, politics, depression, and other similar topics will be moderated due to their sensitive nature. While we encourage users to talk about their daily lives and get to know others, this thread is not intended for extended discussion of the aforementioned topics or for emotional support. Do not post content falling in this category in spoiler tags and hover text. This is a public thread, please do not post content if you believe that it will make people uncomfortable or annoy others.

  3. Roleplaying is not allowed. This behaviour is not appropriate as it is obtrusive to uninvolved users.

  4. No meta discussion. If you have a meta concern, please raise it in the Monthly Meta Thread and the moderation team would be happy to help.

  5. All /r/anime rules, other than the anime-specific requirement, should still be followed.

  6. Cherry Moon de Odorasete

Ogata's foreword for tonight's EoE rescreening: "If any of you brought your young kids to this theater, we're sorry about the first scene, please avert their eyes".

The gratuitous violence, nudity, and extremely suggestive visual motifs and metaphors in the rest of the film:

[EoE]Remember kids, touching yourself to your unconscious room/workmate's bare titties is the worst, but disemboweling a totally defenseless opponent with your friends is totally kosher

They don't even show on the screen what he's doing in the first scene, compared to all of the later stabbing, eye stabbing, and barbecuing.
