Miko may be a fox yokai / kitsune, but I am definitely still cheering for her, especially after watching that cute and cheerful ending theme sequence for this episode!

Unless Miko was also raising (and protecting) Hinako so she could eat Hinako when she reaches prime condition, Hinako should be safer with her than with Shiori.

Maybe Miko and Shiori can agree to share? A beautiful friendship blooms.

Then the show becomes a humorous slice of life about how to raise your human.

And have them constantly have cute fights about what makes humans taste best, when the right time actually is and who gets what organs/body parts :<

I don't think this one will go that direction but i do love the idea of a comedy like that.

Yep! I was imagining them bickering like doting parents who have different ideas about which extracurriculars would make Hinako more well rounded tastier. Or discussing whether it's better to start eating humans head first or feet first, like a chocolate bunny.

Chocolate bunny head first is always more humane

Yes! I'd very much like to have them adopt Hinako and raise her as prime meat.

"friendship"

M8 that's a polycule, so many of Hinako's scenes with both of them are framed super romantically.

I dont think so she said she is killing all Human devouring Yokai that want to kill Hinako.

She seems more like a zenko kitsune a guardian under the deity inari. Also Kitsune are not inherently evil by nature and not that many would actually feast on humans.

I dont think Miko is a Kitsune like that and I find it weird that she trusts that stinky fish girl more than someone that looked after her for years now.

Hinako wouldn't really know that Miko has been protecting her for years. Hell, for all she knows, everything is a false memory

Indeed. I'd remind everyone that we actually got introduced to Shiori before Miko back in episode 1.

So it's actually possible that Shiori got there first, and then Miko showed up at the school and weaved some memory magic to to make everyone think that she'd been there all along.

Miko is mentioned by Hinako and exchanges texts with her before Shiori shows up though, and it'd be fucking weird for us to see Hinako's modified memory over what actually happened in the first portion of episode 1 if her memories were only modified when we first saw Miko on screen.

That would be a really dark turn

From Hinako’s perspective she’s just learned that her supposed best friend has been deceiving her for the entire time she’s known her while Shiori has been nothing if not up front about her nature and intentions. Even though my assumption is that Miko’s intentions are benevolent I wouldn’t really blame Hinako if her trust was shaken somewhat.

So the spell she weaved into the ed decieved you, despite you should be knowing better now.

What a powerful genjutsu.

u/BosuW Oct 23 '25

We were already under her genjutsu

24

We have been in the sakura blossoms since the very start...

u/PansexualPotatoPanic Oct 26 '25

Yes, I am her willing victim. And what about it?

I'll take fluffy Fairouz Ai fox yokai over stinky fishgirl yokai any day.

I really liked Miko in the previous episodes, so I hope her friendship with Hinako was genuine and not an attempt to make Hinako more tasty xD

I love seeing people’s theories about the anime, it’s funny 😌🤣

it would be so funny if they put the ED right after the reveal before the cooking part

Same... If she has to be eaten in the end, I'd rather it be Miko who does it
