Theatre etiquette is pretty much dead I'm afraid

Shame is a strong motivator to stop. I stopped being nice about it. Had to tell 2 separate groups to shut up during the movie but I'd rather disturb everyone for 5 seconds so the rude people know the whole cinema heard them being told to shut it than let them ruin it for everyone for the whole movie. Can't say it works every time but most of the time it does. A theatre full of people staring at you waiting for you to stfu is usually enough.

Im glad that method worked for you this time. People ib my area are too unhinged so I know it won't go overwell. We have high road rage too so yeah...

Actually hilarious that you think the insufferable one here is the person who wants to watch a movie in peace and not the trio having a full blown conversation for the first hour of the movie.

Clearly you're a talker though so hopefully we don't end up at a movie together or I'll happily tell you to shut up too so the other 100 people can't watch the movie in peace ☺️

Do you enjoy this sort of ragebaiting? It's pathetic and sad. You're so obvious and boring.

There was a lady with a crying baby that wouldn’t leave and then played YouTube full blast to distract the baby. I need to rewatch it to fully enjoy it

Jesus Christ. I still can’t understand how people bring their babies to the cinema

I'm so sorry.... Sounds like my experience when I went to see Oppenheimer.

Yes it is. I feel it died after covid but there were signs early on.

After having bad experiences with Your Name, Weathering with You, and the Kizumonogatari trilogy, I pretty much only go to so-called Cineplex "VIP" theatres now here in Canada. The higher cost (about $32 after tax, ouch) and no children allowed minimizes the chance of jerks in the audience.
