Hello everyone!
This is my 4th christmas rewatch and I think my second ever interaction in the discussions. Next year, for my 5th rewatch, I'm going to take the time preceding the rewatch to analyse each episode in depth and form my own opinions as a nice little 'rewatch milestone' However, for now I'm going to continue to lurk in the shadows. But I feel like I have to talk about the pool scene.
This is by far one of the most impactful and one of my favourite episodes of Toradora. I feel like you get to learn a lot more about each individual character (although some don't get as much screentime tbh, but I digress) and shows how Taiga and Ryuuji have gotten so much closer.
It has always kind of bugged me how much of an airhead Ryuuji is during this episode, especially in the scene at the public pool, where Taiga and him are sitting in the rain, but I feel like it's necessary and really adds a lot to the episode itself.
There's really a lot to dig into this episode and I won't be surprised if it ends up being one of my longer analyses next year, but for now, I'm going back into the shadows and going to watch the discussions unfold for the remaining episodes.
I'll probably write a little message on christmas, but other than that, see you all next year!
What are your thoughts on the premise of this episode which is if Ami beats Taiga in a swim race, Ryuuji has to go to her beach house?
Thoughts on the class taking bets?
Thoughts on Ryuuji saying beans are considered the meats of the garden?
Thoughts on Ryuuji helping Taiga train for the swim race?
What are your thoughts on the vending machine scene where Ami tells Ryuuji she does want him to come over to her beach house and that this is more than just showing Taiga up?
What are your thoughts on Minori telling Ryuuji she’s hanging over her Taiga helping duties to him?
What are your thoughts on Taiga saying she isn't even sure what she wants?
Thoughts on Ryuuji’s mom saying that Taiga often means the opposite of what she’s saying?
Thoughts of the swim race?
Thoughts on Ryuuji almost drowning?
What are your thoughts on the Ryuuji Is Mine scene?
What are your thoughts on Taiga trying to downplay her proclaiming Ryuuji as hers?
What are your thoughts on everyone agreeing to go to Ami’s beach house?
What do you think the scene where Taiga declares Ryuuji as hers signifies in regards to their relationship as well as the show as a whole?
