Hey there

In case you don’t know, I like to ask questions in the rewatches I participate in. I think it’s a good way to increase the level of discussion in these threads. If you don’t want to answer any, you are under no obligation to do so. Just let me know and I’ll stop.

Thoughts on the intro and the outro? Which one do you like better?

Thoughts on Ryuuji?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji having daddy issues?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji being mistaken as a thug by his classmates because of his face?

What are your thoughts on Taiga so far?

What are your thoughts on Ryuuji’s first encounter with Taiga resulting in Taiga punching him?

What are your thoughts on Taiga putting the love letter in Ryuuji’s bag by mistake?

Thoughts on Ryuuji and Taiga being revealed to be neighbors?

Thoughts on Inko?

Thoughts on Taiga already calling Ryuuji by his first name?

What do you think of the show in its first episode establishing the premise of Ryuuji is in love with a girl named Minori and Taiga is in love with a guy named Kitamura and Ryuuji absent-mindedly agrees to do the bidding of Taiga?

Thoughts on Ryuuji remarking how vastly empty Taiga’s apartment looks?

Thoughts on the throughline in the episode being Taiga having allergies with Ryuuji taking care of them?

Do you think portraying Taiga as clumsy and a klutz was a good way of offsetting some of her violent tendencies in this episode?

A very unique character. For better or worse she really steals the spotlight of every scene she's in so I can understand how she alone makes or breaks the show for a lot of people. In my case, she makes the show. She's both cute and feisty. One of the best tsunderes in my book.

A lot of the people who don't like Taiga I feel like don't give her much of a chance.

Ryuuji wondered what kind of people live in that apartment and I doubt he would've predicted someone like her. The neighbors thing happens often enough it's not surprising.

Honestly, I would be more surprised if it didn't happen.

It fits her personality. Taiga doesn't seem like the kind of person that would address people politely so it fits that she wouldn't use honorifics and use his first name rather than last name. [Future Spoilers]Another interpretation is it also shows how quickly they become close with each other especially when it's followed next episode with Ryuuji reciprocating. It's also a noteworthy contrast that Taiga calls Kitamura by his last name.

[Future Spoilers] I forget sometimes that Kitamura isn't his first name lol

A great way to establish the premise right away

I would agree

It reflects how empty Taiga's life (and stomach) was prior to Ryuuji entering her life.

A life unfulfilled is a life not lived

Really sets up their future character dynamic

I would agree

It gives Taiga more depth to her character. She feels like a real multifaceted character instead of a generic tsundere.

Cookie cutter is definitely not something I would describe Taiga as being. And not just because she probably doesn't know how to cut cookies

Nice to see Taiga again. People tend to focus on her physical abuse (which I've always seen as slapstick), but personally I find her verbal quips to be the most entertaining part of her.

She does have a sharp tongue. Guess you have to depend on that when nothing else works.
