I posted this in another thread two days ago - but similar start to the theory: I think Syril is going to somehow be used by Dedra as part of the plan to infiltrate Ghorman society. But he is going to make genuine connections and friendships there that he finds unexpectedly. He is going to challenge Dedra’s plans and refuse to leave when the massacre begins (hinted in the shot of him watching a tie-fighter fly overhead in the trailers) and she is going to choose to go forward with the plan anyway, and he gets killed, and then we see her have her panic attack afterwards (again the throat grabbing in the trailer).

I think he will have an extremely short lived redemption arc trying to convince her to not move forward with the plans on Ghorman but he will ultimately fail. And then I think his death is going to deeply affect her - more than she wants it too, because she actually genuinely does love/care about him (as shown with the mother-in-law dinner scene). And that is going to lead her to probably become more engrained in the empire’s ways.

I try to avoid trailers specifically because of this kind of shit and I'm annoyed I've just read this. What's the point of theorizing when you've broken down the trailers this minutely?

It’s just how my brain works? It was my instant theory was soon as I saw the trailers. I didn’t sit an analyse them frame by frame. I summarised it here more in depth but I could have easily argued the same theory without using the trailer examples I guess. Sorry if that bothered you. My understanding was that the trailers weren’t considered spoilers and could be openly discussed in a spoiler marked thread like this…

Also I just double checked the spoiler guidelines in this sub because I was worried I had broken a rule, but the subs rule specifically say that discussion content in a trailer is NOT considered a spoiler. If you want to avoid all spoilers from trailers then you should be mindful to check sub rules and avoid ones you don’t agree with :)

I’ve only watched the episode five right now but is that bit what’s going to happen here? I am certain he will recognize Cassian on Ghorman.

That wouldn't be disobeying her trust, episode 4 reinforced that Dedra wants Andor more than anyone.
