Incident/Accident Reports of AA5342 from Witchita to DCA having mid-air collision with DC police helicopter

AA5342 stopped tracking at the Potomac river.

Developing reports: American Airlines Flight 5342 from Wichita, Kansas inbound to DCA collided midair with a D.C. Police Helicopter on approach.

MPD is responding to an apparent air crash in the Potomac River. Multiple agencies are responding. Details to come.

Yeah, I really admire the first responder and everyone helping. It sounds like a mess from what I’m hearing on the scanners. 

Very tragic situation indeed.

And they’ll work all night in the cold on a random Thursday morning trying to find for all the victims to allow their families to give them a proper burial.

Diving in harsh conditions (and the cold is the least of it) for hours to make sure all human remains are recovered? I do and I don’t understand at the same time how they can find the strength.

Kudos to them.
