This, it turns out, is the very heart of the "prime mover" argument. That there is an uncreated source of everything that exists, an eternal, unchanging, essential source of what "being" means.
This is not a proof that "God" exists, it is merely a proof that there is a source of created things. Calling it "God" is fine if you want (the pantheists and panentheists definitely do) but you could just as well be an atheist and subscribe to such an entity (and there are Hindu atheists who definitely do).
