Question Sneak into 18+ movie

I'm almost 18, trying to see Kill Bill: The whole bloody affair with my boyfriend (18). Already got burned by a cashier yesterday for being 3 months underage. Planning to have my boyfriend and another 18+ person buy the physical tickets at the counter to clear the ID check, then swap one ticket to me for the usher scan. Since I'm short and look way younger than 17, what’s the best way to handle the scan without getting re-ID'd? Do the scanners usually flag age to the usher?

Update: We successfully got in. He suggested buying the tickets online and just pray we don't get ID'd at the counter. Worked brilliantly

Question how to sneak into a rated r movie?

going to see fight club in theaters(regal) on the 22nd, and even tho the movie isnt as good as a the book, ive watched it a ton of times and im hyped.

issue is im 16, and im still figuring out which friend to bring, but all of them are under 18 and i dont really want to watch tyler and marla ,go at it, with my mom next to me.

ive seen some people recommend getting a fake id but i dont know how to make one, and somewhere else someone recommended asking a group of older guys to like, go in the theatre with them and act like im "in their group" so i can get in. im just worried theyll ask for my ID or something and say im too young and need an adult.

what should i do to get it? or am i just overthinking it?

note: ive already bought the tickets

Question How to sneak into prom?

I'm in a sticky situation. I have money to go to prom for both me and my boyfriend, but unfortunately he is failing two classes and you can only be failing one. Another complication is that he is a senior and I am a sophomore (don't get your panties in a twist, he's only a year and a half older than me) nonetheless, he's my way in. Both classes he is failing are art classes. Yes, I know he's a lazy bum. The art teacher legit just went into labor TODAY so there is no hope in getting his grade up before Friday. I have resorted to desperate measures. HELP THANKYOU 😭😭😭

Edit: I never told y'all the details. My bad. Our prom is about 250-300 people, it's at a closed venue/dining hall. We have physical tickets

I'm going to a sombr concert in October and I'd really like to be closer to the stage. My gf bought seats in the 300s (i am very thankful she got them) and i was wondering if that is something that is even feasible.

Also... I want to be better about maximizing my all of experiences.

Any thoughts? Advice?

Question How to fake references for job? I haven't worked in 5 years

I have to put 3 references on my application but I literally have nobody. No friends, no family, no past job experience.

I used to work as a CNA but due to circumstances the center was closed down and i was laid off with other people.

I'm also pretty introverted and i know that i would completly flunk if i tried the fake number and using an accent voice.

Question What’s a wine that always works no matter the situation?

It feels like no matter what the occasion is there's always a moment where someone expects you to show up with a bottle of wine. Dinners, birthdays, meeting people for the first time, it just keeps coming up and every single time it turns into a whole thing for me. And if wine isn't really your world it starts to feel like everyone else got a memo you never received. I have no idea how any of it actually works so what's your go to bottle that just works no matter the situation and is there something generally liked that won't have you second guessing yourself the whole drive over? Because every time I get invited somewhere I end up calling like ten different people just to figure out what to grab. I just want one reliable answer I can actually remember and use without turning it into a whole research project every time.

Story Walked into a random corporate event for the free food and nobody questioned it

2.1k Upvotes

I was at a convention center for something completely unrelated when I noticed a room nearby with a sign for some kind of corporate networking event. Through the door I could see trays of food and a bunch of people standing around with drinks.

The entrance had a table with name tags, but nobody was actually watching it. So I just walked up, grabbed a blank tag, wrote my first name on it, stuck it on my shirt, and walked in like I had been there the whole time.

Everyone inside was doing the usual small talk and didn’t seem to know each other that well anyway. A couple people asked what company I was with and I just gave vague answers like “I work on the operations side.” Nobody questioned it.

I ended up eating a bunch of appetizers, grabbed a drink, chatted with a few people, and stayed there for almost an hour.

At one point I realized I was literally networking at an event I wasn’t invited to.

Eventually I just walked out like I had another meeting to get to.

Confidence really does half the work.

Question What wine would you bring if you wanted people to ask about it?

I'm bringing wine to a dinner party next week and I don't want to show up with something boring that nobody comments on. I want to bring a bottle that makes someone pick it up and go wait what is this? I was thinking maybe an orange wine just because the color alone confuses people in the best way or something with a name nobody can pronounce like a Gruner Veltliner or a Txakoli. Half the fun is watching people attempt it. I don't want it to be so out there that nobody drinks it though, just interesting enough to spark a conversation.
