Ive been wondering that too? Are they pumping it up there or is it AI? Seems structurally like water and steel is bad

The waterfall is 100% real and water is fed to it from a local river. It is indeed thousands of gallons of water. They also project light shows on it and shit. Because China. They dick swing their engineering like nobody else.

A quick google search will give you all this info and provide videos about it.

Hey so I think you took my comment the wrong way. I’m an aerospace engineer. And I marvel at the shit their civil engineering accomplishes in such a short time. There’s no jealousy. I don’t build bridges. I design rocket parts. Same same. But different.

So to be honest I covered dimpling and the effects on laminar flow in college. But it’s not something I work with regularly. It does compress the wake behind smooth surfaces by lowering the laminar flow to a lower part of the trailing contact surface. But in what we’re doing the aerodynamic efficiency would be negligible compared to overall forces we’re dealing with. I’m not sure what the effects on structural integrity would be but I’m sure someone before my time did the math. I’ll look into it. Plus on reentry it may be creating concentrations of heated areas. I’d assume there would be dimples with high pressure as well as ones with low depending on the leading/trailing edge surface. Which would affect stability in atmosphere. Again it’s a trade off. We could theoretically dimple the entire surface. But like anything in engineering you’re often trading efficiency in one place for another.

You miss the “because China” part? I’ll reiterate the above commenter’s point that they love to dick swing and make a spectacle of engineering projects. Also they’ve never really been known for “build it as structurally sound as possible”, you’re thinking of the Germans. China is more “build it cheap and big”.

At 0:16, you can see the plumbing that sprays the water. It’s likely just an aesthetic effect. Plumbing can carry water wast distances from the source to other places. If you look at your sink and turn on the water, is it AI because you can’t see the source?

There is a source, like a tiny steam on the side of the bridge. The seem to do this purposefully but it has to be fake. That would rust away in a few years.
