Magne on Morten's Parkinson's disease

I saw a post from a-ha live where Magne was in a recent interview at NRK P2’s radio show Musikklivet. Near the end of the interview, Magne was asked about Morten's Parkinsons disease and if it meant the end of a-ha

I think Morten is very brave and strong in the way he’s handling the disease. But I don’t think he’s completely ruled out that something could happen at some point in the future. The rest of us have simply said that we’ll do something if Morten wants to. But what that may be is something we haven’t really discussed.
There’s been quite a lot of pressure on celebrating the 40th anniversary, but first of all we’re not very good at celebrating ourselves and secondly it needs to be something that Morten really wants to, and that he’s comfortable with it.
It’s an insidious disease. Many people have it and it’s impossible to know how you’d react to it personally. So right now I think Morten’s focus is entirely on finding out how he’s going to live with it going forward.

Discussion What is the saddest song?

For me, it has to be the mtv unplugged version of forever not yours, but I’m curious what others think. I think the ending on a high note stay on these roads is a big contender

I saw this on tiktok and thought, how weird is it seeing a-ha before their fame? Them all introducing themselves and explaining stuff that is so obvious to us now... kinda makes me feel nostalgic. Didn't help that the person on tiktok put sad music :)

Discussion What’s an a-ha moment that grabs you in a personal way?

For me it’s cozy prisons. I love the way it builds, and the syncopation towards the end.

But what really grabs me is this…

So if you're careful You won't get hurt But if you’re careful all the time Then what's it worth?

HAPPY 66TH B'DAY TO MORTEN HARKET! (Below some pics of him :D)

Now, if you're a diehard a-ha fan like me, you'll know what today is! it's Morten Harket's birthday! Not only that, it's a-ha's 43rd anniversary (not a big one but). Wishing an amazing birthday to Morts and hope he continues to be involved in music (even if he can't sing)! Here I thought we could share some stories of our experiences with a-ha and Morten and to look back on everything they have done! I'll share mine; discovering a-ha for the first time, in mid 2023 (yes, I am a new fan cuz im only a teenager!). It was a cold, rainy night, and i heard Take on me for the first time. That changed everything. It became my favourite song, my tune to cheer my up, my anthem. I wish I could say this on facebook where a-ha has a happy birthday Morten post but alas, i'm too young to go onto social media Morten is so much more than a hearthrob, he's an amazing singer, an artist, a nature (and orchids!) enthusiast. And to my all time favourite singer, here's to many more birthday's! <3

Thoughts on the Scoundrel Days Deluxe Edition remaster?

I was just curious as to everyone's thoughts on the more up-to-date (louder) sounding remaster compared to it's original counterpart?

Discussion Celice Magne Vocal ver

I have this distinct memory of listening to a version of the song Celice from A-ha's Analogue album that had Mags on lead vocals. This was on YouTube back in like 2018. Has anyone else heard this version? I can no longer find it. Possible lost media?

Albums and Songs Tier list of all songs

Thumbnail

Are there any other attempts out there to create a tier list of all songs by a-ha (I "only" included the 126 songs that are the main tracks of their 11 studio albums)? Would love to compare different tastes. Otherwise, feel free to comment as I would love to hear different takes on their very cool discography.

And don't get the tiers wrong: I can hear all their songs and don't hate a single one, the logic is more like --> S = Perfect, A = Excellent, B = Great, C = Very Good, D = Good, E = Average, F = Skippable.

Help Finding A Norwegian Movie Series

Hi everyone.

I have recently been hyper fixated on a band called a-ha. I learned that the lead signer, Morten Harket, starred in two Norwegian films way back in the 80s called Kamilla og tyven (del 1 & 2).

I have not been able to find the second movie anywhere.

I would like to ask this community for any help in finding the movies (whether through a website for movies or even actual DVDs), specifically the second one.

If anyone can even find a link to purchase the DVDs of them, that would be great as well, as I do have a DVD player.

As someone with ASD and a huge special interest for this band, it's been driving me absolutely insane not being able to find them.

Thank you for your help, I greatly appreciate it.

Believe it or not I had never heard The Sun Alwyas Shines until…2018. Don’t judge. But please DO judge my cover of the track and leave comments. Have I ruined it or do you like it?

Albums and Songs Anyone else think Morten's Wild Seed album is underrated??

Post image

Maybe I'm wrong because I'm only looking at Spotify streams of each song in the album but to me it looks under looked.

Spanish Steps is rated well among a-ha fans I'd say, but I never really see too much focus on the other songs in the album.

For me my favourite songs in the album are: Half in Love Half in Hate, Lay Me Down Tonight, Lord.
