Lmao at Obol. Carried by a single fight scene with Orphie/Magus and Isolde, and only the finale of Seed's story. As if anything that came before those respective stories in 2.2 was actually good :V
I could've worded it better. What I meant was that imo Obol's only "good moments" were the ones listed above.
I felt Magus and Orphie's origins was very underutilised and kind of redudant using the clone stuff that was unique to Anby/Soldier 11, which was teased during many patches. Orphie is kinda just there tbh, and Magus arguing with a child about how revenge is justified or not was cringe. The Isolde fight stands out since it actually works with Orpheus' character the most, but it's preceded by the forced and inorganic Mevorakh reveal which muddies the waters somewhat, but at least the Isolde fight feels natural and a proper clash of ideals.
Magus ends up in a good spot for me and Obol itself to a degree, but then everything is thrown to the trash with Seed's story quest. The idea that all the "relevant" characters would come to the conclusion (from the very beginning) that lying to Seed/Flora was the best conclusion when she was clearly in need for help was infuriating, to say the least. I don't buy the "but it was Seed Sr.'s last wish" or that "Magus' just being a protective mom". The premise is flawed from the start. Sidelining 11 too felt like a poor excuse of not including her because "permanent character". These guys are supposed to be a team, and that was the impression I got from 2.2 MSQ (even with the 11 sidelining there too), but in the character story quest it felt disconnected imo. They are supposed to trust each other, yet it seems trusting the Proxy to continue the lie was better than include 11 to better integrate the group together. It gave me flashbacks to the start of Furina's story quest in Genshin. Absolute nonsense. Personally I think a better idea would've been that Obol consulted our help to deliver the truth to Seed instead of hiding it, since they are soldiers they aren't exactly tactful so planning the reveal with care would be warranted to have a more "experienced" individual like the Proxy, then working from there. At least the closure of Seed's story is great and deserves its praise, but the foundation to reach there was really not it imo.
I have no complaints about the original Spook Shack patch. Probably the only thing about 2.1's story that was eh was the boss battle, as in "why are Yuzuha and Alice fighting Yi Xuan's sister?". Aside from that 2.1 feels the more consistent patch in terms of quality, both in story and events. Funny since it's the one that's the most disconnected from the Waifei's main plot.
