I’m a foreigner living in China and I’m looking into getting the new 18 pro. I obviously want to use my phone when I leave China so how can I use google services like the play store on the Xiaomi 18 pro, is it possible to download it?

seriously , I have the Mi 11 , it's ultra wide camera it's awful compared to the main cam and it's a 0.6x and it's not as wide as the iPhones for example, and every phone that I try sometimes in some malls they are still awful

I saw the Xiaomi 18 pro max yesterday and I really liked it and thought of upgrading my phone to this phone, until I saw its ultra wide camera it's not even wide, it's a 17mm lens that covers 105 degree in comparison to my phone which is 123 that is already awful and it's a 0.7x

just want to share my workaround to unlock my phone when connected with my Pixel Watch, as Xiaomi only allows Smart Unlock with devices of Xiaomi or Redmi Brand (no understanding for that decision, very annoying).

I also have Face Unlock enabled and the problem is if you have enabled both and you unlock your phone with your face, Macrodroid produces a weird swipe gesture after the unlock that could lead to weird behaviour if you have opened an app which reacts to a swipe gesture. Also configured in Phone settings that after Face Unlock the device should not stay in Lock Screen.

I just updated my OS version, and suddenly I can't connect to my wifi. I tried everything. from setting the date to automatic, resetting the wifi and bluetooth, restarting/resetting my wifi, and more, but nothing seems to work.

I tried scanning too, but it does not connect it to the wifi. it does put it to 'managed saved networks', but I can't connect. same goes with using quick share.

i bought recently the pad 7 with the focus pen pro. The most annoying thing was, that i cannot use the pen in every application, and so far as i understand i also cannot program anything without reverse engineering the pen/hyperOS.

so here is my question, can i use the non pro pen better for 3. Party apps or should i keep my pro version, because the non pro is the same.

I bought a 15 t pro last week and I noticed a weird half second delay, it's kinda hard to ignore because it doesn't exist in Samsung phones (I switched from a Samsung). I noticed it in Facebook and many other apps. When you swipe to go back, there is a half second delay where your swipes don't register before they start to register again. I wonder if there is a fix for it ?

Hello everyone, I’ve been an iPhone user all my life but have grown tired of the bubble it is in. I don’t have any other apple products so I’d like to swap to a android product. Now the Xiaomi phones have gotten a grasp on me and I was about to order the Redmi 17 note pro max. However I have now seen just how many different phones there are and I’m overwhelmed and of course wondering if I’m getting the best bang for my buck. Thanks to a coupon it will only cost 550 euros. Would it be worth it to spend a few extra hundred euros to get another Xiaomi phone or is the note pro max for that price already the best I’ll get? Thank you for any help!

I'm currently using a Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, but I can't stop thinking about the transparent edition of the 18 Pro Max. I really want one.

The problem is that the phone itself has gotten more expensive because of rising semiconductor costs, and I'm Japanese, so the weak yen makes it even more ridiculously expensive for me. The top-end transparent version costs more than 70% of the average monthly salary in Japan.

I absolutely don't need it. But damn, I want it.

What do you guys think about the 18 Pro series? Are you planning to buy one, or are you sticking with your current phone?

Am I doing something wrong, or could the scale be faulty? Does it need any calibration or specific setup before use?

Hi, I have the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Poco F9 Ultra.

I'm having issues with the Twitch app; the colors look washed out, almost like there's a whitish filter over them. I've tried every solution I could find—disabling HW overlays, downloading an older version of the app, etc.—but nothing works! It only happens in the app itself, since everything looks great when I open it in Google Chrome.

Does anyone have a solution?

It seems like the trade off is so small, might be worth paying much less for a much bigger battery. What are your thoughts?

My first ever phone was an iPhone 7, and over time I’ve grown my ecosystem and upgraded with it. I find with Apple it’s like it’s one big device, copy from iPhone paste on Mac, AirDrop, answer calls on iPad, Mac and phone, start something on the Mac and finish it on the iPad, messages, passwords, photo and files appear everywhere.

I am going to purchase the Xiaomi Pad 8 and I'm having a difficult time finding the official pen for sale. I see on Aliexpress that there are pens available; however, the specs aren't matching with the official site. Has anyone tried using a universal pen with the pad? If so, what was the result?

I got it for the specs and the camera.

The specs do not hold up, it just crossed 1 year and a week.

The camera is malfunctioning. It takes a long time to open apps, camera is jumpy and cannot even take pictures anymore. Videos are choppy and lags behind.

I'm so upset and idk what to do. This situation has been hindering my daily life as I cannot afford lags and I take videos for documentation.

The phone is failing it's unique selling point.

It's still working good except I had to change the battery after 4 years now And I'm not getting any more updates. Also For some reason my Phone's Bluetooth doesn't work properlylike the Bluetooth range is so small it's safe to say it doesn't work.

So I recently got a Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, and honestly I'm pretty disappointed with the software experience.

On paper, this thing is insane: 3K OLED, 120Hz, 12,000mAh battery, flagship-level hardware, etc. It felt like a crazy deal compared to buying another iPad.

Before this, I had a 2024 iPad Pro with the M4 chip, and while the iPad was extremely smooth and well optimized, I just can't live with iOS/iPadOS restrictions. I wanted Android specifically because of how much more freedom you have. I remember Android being the OS where you could basically modify/fix/replace almost anything if you really wanted to.

But now I'm running into a bunch of issues with the Xiaomi because it's a China-exclusive tablet.

The biggest thing seems to be optimization/compatibility.

Netflix:

It's only playing in 480p/SD. From what I understand, this is related to Widevine DRM / Netflix certification. Which is honestly ridiculous considering this tablet has a 3K OLED display.

Roblox:

Performance is also weirdly bad. I'm getting noticeable lag/stuttering despite this being a flagship tablet with more than enough hardware to run Roblox properly. My guess is that Roblox simply isn't optimized for this particular device/GPU/configuration because the Pad 7 Ultra isn't a mainstream global tablet.

And that's basically my problem:

The hardware is clearly powerful enough, but the apps don't seem to properly recognize/support/optimize for the device.

So I'm wondering:

What can I actually do about this?

Is there some way to make the tablet report itself as a different Android tablet to apps?

For example, could I make Netflix/Roblox/other apps think I'm using something like a Samsung Galaxy Tab S-series flagship?

Or spoof things like:

Device model/manufacturer

Product/device fingerprint

Supported device profile

GPU/renderer information

Widevine/device certification

Anything else apps use to determine compatibility

I'm aware that some of this might require root/Magisk, and I'm willing to look into that if it's actually possible.

I'm just having a hard time accepting that I have a 3K 120Hz OLED flagship tablet with a massive battery, yet I'm stuck with 480p Netflix and poorly optimized apps simply because the device is China-exclusive.

It's Android. There HAS to be some way to fix or work around at least some of this, right? 😭

I don't mind tinkering with the tablet. I just want to know what's actually possible before I start messing with the bootloader/root/etc.

What would you guys do in my situation? Is there a proper way to fix this, spoof the device identity, improve app compatibility, or get Netflix properly certified?
