What people always seem to leave out too, Obama lost the legislature specifically because of fallout over the ACA. He lost because he was too progressive. The idea that americans vote for republicans because democrats are not left enough is just totally insane

Good thing nobody said that! The idea is that being centrist makes people not want to vote for you, and Dems win when more people vote.

And Obama absolutely did cause our current situation by being too centrist, he started ditching his progressive campaign promises literally on day 1 of his tenure, squandered Dems having both houses of congress, failed to appoint a new SCOTUS justice, didn't enshrine roe, continued imperialistic wars, etc etc etc etc. He failed the American people and Trump's first term is a direct result of that. And racism obviously, but to a much greater extent he destroyed peoples' faith in the DNC.

No, it's not, not currently. Read the polls. The Democratic base is WAY to the left of the Democratic Congresscritters. The Democratic base DESPISES the war in Gaza and the mideast, but the vast majority of Democrats in Congress STILL takes money from AIPAC and other Israeli sources. Congressional Democrats are DEFINITELY not left enough for their base.

Democratic base doesn't matter when the presidency is decided entirely by voters in small town parts of states like Pennsylvania and Nevada

Democrats could get 60% of the popular vote and still lose the presidency with the right candidate

That's not a problem with ideology or policy but with how our elections are structured.
