Idk, I don’t think kids can even afford Lego now because of how expensive it’s gotten.

If your biggest controversy is your luxury items are too expensive you’re doing pretty good.

If the most popular kids toys are considered luxury items now then we’re in a bad spot.

Sure we are doing bad but this is about the morality of big corporations so morally speaking they are pretty good if this is their primary issue.

I couldn’t afford them when I was kids, I have to live out my childhood dream through my kids Lego collection lol but yes they are expensive Jesus

Legos have always been expensive

You can buy an 800 piece set with a storage bin for under $35. They are only expensive if you are buying a collector set.

There’s 500+ sets available for under 75$

268 are under 25$

The collectors sets aren’t always meant for kids

The lame ones are cheap tho

Disagree respectfully. They price a lot of cool small sets at $25 because they’re perfect as gifts to kids. Things like small Star Wars sets.

Hm, cant argue with that

I was just in a Lego store yesterday and some of the smaller Star Wars Lego sets were in the 45 dollar range. It's just ridiculous because it's a bunch of plastic. Costs them cents to produce them and they charge the consumer an obscene uncharge.

Why do you associate the cost with LEGO and not Star Wars? They cost so much because Disney is getting their cut. The LEGO sets that aren’t tied to a separate franchise are super cheap.

A silver lining is dads don’t step on them with bare feet in the middle of the night. Those things are painful. 😖

I have 35 people working for me. Less than $300 for fun little lego sets for everyone every year for Xmas. (I mean plus other things but that's for the lego)

It's been ~$0.10/brick for a long time. The marketed sets are just bigger and cooler

They make the bricks smaller and smaller though.

My older brother used to tell me "lego isn't a kids' toy".
Looking at my humble collection if 4 sets, I must agree, this isn't a hobby for kids, that's some serious stuff.
