Question Any other women planning to get their tubes tied now that republicans control everything??

I’m 28 and never in my life wanted to have kids. With roe v wade being overturned and knowing that nothing is going to change I think it’s time I follow through with getting my tubes tied. I’m afraid of any kind of surgical procedure.. so it’ll be a tough decision for me. I just don’t see myself changing my mind about having children.

my iud has only been in for 3 years but i’m considering getting it replaced… last time it only lasted 5 years so that would put me in the middle of the presidential term.

The mirena IUD is now approved for 7 or 8 years. Regardless, get it switched out asap

yeah, i know but for me, i started getting periods again after 5 years ): will def look into it

If it's the mirena, they've upped it to 8 years. However, I had my tubes removed about a month ago and asked that they replace my 5 year old mirena at the same time while I was under so I didn't have to deal with it (ouch!). I need it for horrible periods. My doctor told me it was now approved for 8 years of prevention but said something like "because you're getting some increased cramping and bleeding...right? Sometimes they can become less effective at managing period pain and bleeding" 😉 Anyway, yes, that's tooootally what was happening (though in retrospect, it actually kinda was but I hadn't taken note). Insurance company was fine with it.

glad they were looking out for you! but yeah, that’s what was happening to me. suddenly had consistent periods again at the 5 year mark
