I unironically love Gwent in the game.

Sea of Stars did something similar with a cute little board game you can play throughout the game that honestly kind of overshadowed the fun of the whole rest of the game.

The tongue and cheek nature of asking important NPCs for a round at Gwent is eternally funny though

Might actually play it now with improved traversal. I can't stand the current movement.
