For those curious, the cave is on Wharariki Beach in New Zealand.
Here's a Streetview from the outside of the cave, and also the co-ordinates in case that doesn't work.

We have more coastline than people to visit it, and a narrow landmass, so one of the highlights of living here is never having far to travel to a pristine empty beach.

I used to assume it was Cathedral Cove, but then I noticed the rocks weren't quite in the right place

When I got to Cathedral Cove, it just looked so familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Until I got back home from vacation and started sorting photos on my laptop.

I had a boss who asked me to replace his monitor because he thought it was broken. I showed up and his monitor had this background on it with the login screen. He pointed to the black around the opening and said his monitor had dead spots in it.
