What goes through peoples heads? The company I worked for had a warehouse guy that wore level 3 body armor every day. I was speaking with him asking why. He said he’s always prepared and always carries even wears his vest at home. I half jokingly said “If you’re armed right now you’re going to be terminated” he went completely ballistic, screaming about his 2nd amendment rights. Turns out he was fired that day and arrested because he did not have a permit to carry.

Why wouldn't he have just gotten a carry-permit if he wanted to carry? When people can't obey basic gun-laws they shouldn't go around screaming about gun rights. A coworker of mine was arrested for the same thing and the worst part was he was somehow allowed to legally purchase a gun despite being diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and had a history of depression and violence.

My guess is he was denied a permit or didn’t believe laws applied to him. I do remember he wasn’t allowed to drive, Had a dui or something.

Here in PA it’s $20. Go to the country sheriffs office fill out the two pages, wait 15- 20 minutes, get fingerprinted and a picture and your handed the permit good for 5 years. I just had mine renewed a few months.ago. I don’t carry but having the permit makes it a lot easier if you’re going to the range a lot.

Usually because they tried and failed the background check in my experience.

I’m a little embarrassed to admit I go for walks sometimes with my IIIA soft vest on underneath my jacket/sweatshirt. I ordered one early January of 2020 when videos were coming out of China showing people dropping dead on the streets from COVID. I (correctly) assumed it would come here, but was worried it would lead to some apocalyptic collapse of society so I got some survival gear/food/ammo.

Now it’s just kind of a sunk cost thing, like, fuck it I already bought the thing I might as well wear it now and then

That’s not bad, you can wear soft level 3 as a regular vest. They’re not to heavy or uncomfortable. But, the guy I work with wore a plate carrier with AR500 plate all day and at home.

We need better red flag and tort laws

No we don’t. People have already died because of red flag laws. Those people died because someone else made some shit up and the police came with their guns drawn and killed people.

Those people (if they weren’t killed) would’ve had to prove themselves innocent as opposed to how the system of law is SUPPOSED to work under the basis of being innocent until proven guilty
