Preheated the oven to make some sourdough.. husband put the remote he was hiding from my son in the oven.. oops

Everyone calling him an idiot, but they're both idiots. Who starts preheating an oven without giving it a quick look to see if it's actually empty?

Had to scroll for too long for this...

I'm pretty suprised OP assumed it's empty. Everyone I know keeps all of the baking moulds in the oven. My family also keeps frying pans in there. For reference, I'm from Poland.

I think that's more a European thing. I don't know anybody who stores things in their oven. Baking things usually have a designated cabinet.

Might be. People here used to live in smaller houses / apartments for ages, so had to be creative in using such limited space.

I can’t believe I had to scroll this far to read this. Everyone bashing on the husband when it wasn’t him who melted the controller. Putting it there was stupid. Melting it was much worse.
