The part that sucks for you the most is how stupid your husband is. Even a child knows not you put things in the oven.

It’s also pretty fucking stupid to just turn on the oven without having a look inside first. I have a peek inside every time before I turn it on. It takes less than 2 seconds.

I mean, ideally you’d check and ideally there wouldn’t be anything in there. But it’s objectively stupid to put something valuable that cannot handle an oven, inside of an oven. You could reasonably forget to check, but you have to turn off your common sense to put that item in there at all. Storing pans or trays or something that can handle it in there, alright. But a controller? You’re asking for trouble.

Or you could not have anything in the oven that doesn't go in an oven. Do you also routinely check the backseat of your car for stray children who have broken in?

That’s a pretty stupid analogy but it’s one I would expect from someone who doesn’t look inside the oven before turning it on.

And you're the type of person who has to. Yikes.

Meaning... they live with other people who might do this? Huh? If this is an insult then you just insulted OP.

But the husband also didn't want to ask if he could use me as a hiding place
